Project Sunday - this is the project I am working on in the Wool Applique class that Deb & I are taking. The pieces are cut from felted wool, then the flowers and leaves are fused to the background piece. (those are the steps we learned to do in class the other night) Now I have to hand-stitch around all the flowers, centers and leaves. Uh huh, not a quick and easy project. I got one flower done last night :) But when I am finished I will have this nice 18" table mat that is all hand crafted.

Need to start thinking about class projects for next month so I think it's going to be a stamping day...........

The card - a simple valentine card. I inked the border stamp (Hero Arts) with markers (basic grey & cherry cobbler). The hearts are popped up and the bottom is embossed with swiss dots.

Celebrating Deb & Emily's birthdays tonight so I need to get my house in some sort of order and make some chicken & noodles today.

Someone asked what wool applique is - I will try to come up with a explanation for that one in a day or two - right now my brain is on overload from all the info from class last night........

The card - a little explanation here. At our Shoebox Club in December we have an 'ugly stamp' exchange. Then, in January we have to show a card we made with that 'ugly stamp'. So, on the left is the 'ugly stamp' I got - courtesy of Alison. Uh huh....pretty darn ugly! After some masking, cutting out little flowers and using the stamp-a-ma-jig, the card on the right is what I came up with. It was a challenge, but it's pretty amazing what you can do with even an 'ugly stamp'!

The card - using some new paper from SU....oval started with a SU embossing folder, then I punched it out with a scallop oval, happy birthday is stamped on a seperate piece and punched out and layered on top. Colors are kraft, black and vanilla.

Went to see Mission Impossible yesterday - very entertaining (of course I could be entertained just watching Tom Cuise!) But it was a fun movie. Now it's time to actually get some work done I think. Photo Saturday - this is another shot of the Ouray Ice Park. (last week's picture was from the same place) The ice here is all man-made. They use sprinklers to make these ice formations and it is a popular spot for ice climbers. They have a big ice climbing event in January. Really a beautiful sight to see.

The card - a very simple one today. This is a matching stamp and embossing folder. I stamped the image with kraft (on kraft paper) and then lined it up in the embossing folder - rather a cool effect. I did discover it is a bit bigger so in order to have a top layer to wrap my ribbon around I had to make this a 5 x 7 card.

Going to try for a stamping day - I'm feeling a little discombomulated with all the out of the ordinary things that have been going on around here - I think I need a day to do something ordinary and hopefully be productive at the same time :)

I apologize for the late post today - my computer was dead this morning. And I do mean dead. So, my son & I have spent the day trying to get this new one set up. Wow - what a time consuming process. I still have lots to do and figure out, but I'm at least making some progress with it. My son has gone home so now I'm on my own - we'll see how that works out!

The card - not much stamping here. Sentiment is from CTMH. Colors are cajun, olive, kraft and mustard. I sprayed the die cut leaves with water, then wadded them up to give them a little more texture.

Need to work on some class stuff today. And do some laundry......and pick up some of the mess that somehow has spread to almost every room in the house (not sure how that happens).

The card - stamped image is from SU. Sentiment is from CTMH. I colored the basket of pears with copics. Although it doesn't show up well in the photo the basket is on a vanilla circle, layered on another vanilla circle.Colors are wasabi, espresso and vanilla.

I have a long list of things I want to get done this week so I guess I better decide what to start with and get to it.

He never ceases to amaze me! This is my son Jeff in his Halloween costume. He looked online and found a picture of the outfit he wanted from Star Wars, and with only a picture to go by, went to the store and purchased the material and then proceeded to sew up this costume. How cool is that? (I certainly could not have done it - I have to have a pattern and step by step instructions for anything like that!) I forgot to ask him how he managed to make his hair and beard gray - it's normally light brown.

Aw....what to do today....... not sure. Probably should do some laundry. Will probably watch some football (and hope for the best for the Broncos!) Maybe get some stamping done. Can you tell I don't really have a plan for the day?

The card - stamped images are from SU. I inked the background leaves with artichoke and then sponged a bit of mustard on top before stamping. The card is mustard, circle is vanilla and background newsprint is from SU. (didn't notice the crooked ribbon until I posted this - not sure how that happened)

A little plug today for some friends - if you are local and haven't been to Seasons to Follow you need to check it out! It's a locally owned shop on Main Street (just east of 6th St). It's my favorite place to shop for gifts and things for my house. Now they are adding some scrapbooking/card making classes and supplies to the store. Michelle Hahn is teaching classes and doing crops. They have a very small amount of supplies, but I managed to find some very cool paper and embellishments to buy. So, go check it out.

It's been a long and busy week and I am so looking forward to a fun and relaxing stamping evening with my friends tonight!

Project Sunday - this is the calendar topper I did for our Shoebox club a few weeks ago. The stamps are all from Unity. I stamped the leaves and pumpkins and then cut them out.

This morning I am going to work on getting a class project cut and ready for class this week. Then I will be able to relax and have some fun stamping time with Judy S this afternoon.

Got a little side-tracked yesterday from my original plan - decided it was time to put the summer clothes and flip flops away (boohoo!) so I ended up cleaning out my closet. Now I need to get back to some regular cleaning today. (and that is how I end up turning a one-day project into a two-day project :)

The card - tree is from SU. I stamped the tree with cajun craze, then colored the trunk with suede. Colors are white, cajun and suede. The greeting was stamped before I embossed the panel.

I think it's been raining all night - my driveway is a big lake - at this point it looks like I might need to build an ark to get out - good thing I did my errands yesterday! It's a good day to spend in my stamp room! (cleaning up will be first on the agenda - I've made quite the mess the last few days!)

Need to get some stamping done today - after I clean off my table that is. The whole room needs a bit of cleaning up and re-organizing, but that will probably be a job for another day. For today I will settle for enough clean space to get some cards done.
