Goodbye to 2008.

Have a wonderful

New Year's Eve.

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

Another new stamp - this one is from Stampendous - I got it at Hobby Lobby. The flowers are embossed in white on the black piece. (it's actually a white embossing powder with some sparkles in it) Because this embossing powder is not a bright white - it comes out a bit cream - I used cream for the background color instead of white.

Not sure which direction my day is going today. I guess I need to finish cleaning up the Christmas stuff - I got it all taken down on Monday, but sort of dumped it all in the basement. Now I need to dig the storage bins back out and get it all put away. Oh fun!

Have a wonderful day!

New stamps - this is one of the cards I did on Saturday night when Emily was here. The stamp is from Papertrey Ink - colors are Groovy Guava and Mellow Moss. I used an exacto knife to make the slits for the ribbon.

Think I will brave the cold and do some errands today. Brrr!

Happy stampin'

The card - SU's Urban Garden paper, stamps are from Pocket Silhouettes, colors are Old Olive and Not Quite Navy.

I just got back from taking Tracy to the airport - boo hoo! Now the house will seem especially empty for a couple of days. But I am going to work on getting the Christmas decorations taken down today so that should keep me occupied.

I did get a little stamping done last night - Emily came over and I played with a few of my new stamps. Fun!

It's do or die for the Broncos tonight - Go Broncos!

Saw this layout on a blog and thought it was rather unique. Stamps are from Verve - colors are Soft Sky, Bayou and River Rock.

I ended up taking a "day off" yesterday. Read a book, took a nap, played a few games with the kids and watched a movie last night with Tracy. A perfectly wonderful and relaxing day. Today just may be more of the same - I've decided the "real world" can wait til next week!

Enjoy your weekend!

This is a card I did a while back when I was playing with SU's Garden Tea line of paper. Stamp set is Embrace Life - colors are Old Olive and Baja.
I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday. Christmas Eve and Christmas day were both awesome. Now I need to get back to "real life" I guess - darn! I have a whole bunch of new stamps that came right before Christmas, so I'm looking forward to playing with those.
Enjoy your day!

Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace?
Or a Cricut, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that's when I heard him,
"Hi Santa", I said
"You know........good little girls
Should be in their beds."
"I know I should Santa,
And now I've been caught.
But I was just so excited
To see what you brought."
Well, let's take a look
In this room where you work."
He shook his head quickly,
And left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim
As he put it in gear,
"You've got enough crap,
I'll see you next year!"
(Diane sent this to Judy and she sent it on to me - thought it was perfect to share today.)

Unusual colors, but I like it. The background looks a little too plain for me, I should have used some swiss dots or something I think. Colors are sage green and perfect plum. Top note die from SU, cuttlebug snowflake and peace stamp is Inkadinkado.

Snow, snow and more snow! Gosh, I didn't think it would ever stop yesterday. Tracy flew home last night (Phoenix to Denver, to GJ) I was worried about her making it last night, but she arrived pretty much on time around 7:00. Jeff went and picked her up - thank goodness!

Well I'm off to make noodles for dinner tonight. (Yep, always have to have homemade chicken and noodles for Tracy) Then I guess I will bundle up and go shovel some snow.

Have a great day!

A card with a bit of an old-fashioned look. Used SU's Winter Post and Lovely as a Tree sets. Colors are chocolate, riding hood red and Top Note die is kraft. The skaters were stamped first, then masked off before stamping the trees.
Well, the football game yesterday was disappointing - the Broncos lost - again! But Judy S came over to play so I at least got a couple of cards done. I got my grocery shopping done yesterday so today is going to be cleaning day.
Happy stampin'

A super simple snowflake card. I embossed the snowflake with some embossing powder I have that had some glitter in it. It doesn't show up well in the picture, but there are snowflakes stamped in white on the background of the card. Color is Soft Sky.

Only have a couple things left to do - clean the house and go to the grocery store. Have to decide which to do today - neither one sounds very exciting. I'm leaning towards the grocery shopping so I can get it out of the way. That will probably be my choice for today if I can talk myself into going out in the cold. Brrrrr!

Go Broncos!

Saturday, December 20, 2008

An easy card to put together. Stamp is To You and Yours from SU. I used the Rough Around the Edges wheel on the green strip. Ribbon is Kraft taffeta. Colors are Hunter, vanilla and kraft.

My shopping is done - oh yea! I'm planning on staying home today, playing in my stamp room - after I clean it up a bit! I'm anxiously waiting on some new stamps to arrive but I'm sure I can find something to play with in the mean time.

More snowmen. Used bashful blue and chocolate for this one.

Less than a week til Christmas - oh my! It just doesn't seem possible. I am going to try and finish my shopping today. Sherry and Emily are coming to play tonight and I think I will try to finish up a class project I've been working on.

Have a wonderful day!

Thursday, December 18, 2008

I've been trying to find ways to use this big snowflake die (sizzix). Thought this worked pretty well. Paper is SU baja, snowman is from SU's Deer Friends and ribbon is from Bazzill.

Only got part of my shopping done yesterday so will need another day to finish. But I think I'm going to stay home today and get the laundry done and try to do some paper work. Maybe I'll venture out this afternoon - or maybe not.

Deb originally used this layout last summer on a card - then Roni copied the layout for a Christmas card for our Stamp Club - then I copied Roni's card, just changed the colors. Must be a good layout! The stamps are from SU's Season of Joy and the So Swirly wheel. Colors are kraft, chocolate and riding hood red.

My Christmas cards are done and ready to take to the post office - yea! Now I just have to finish up some cards for Tracy. I think today will be a shopping day.

I found this stamp hiding in a drawer with some stamps I haven't used in a very long time. Anyone out there remember Quilt Junction that was downtown on Main Street? That's where this stamp came from so I have had it a long time. Not sure why I would have bought it because I didn't even stamp in those days. Anyway, I thought it was pretty cute and decided to make a card with it. (It's from PSX) I kept it simple - swiss dots in the background, cuttlebug snowflake tucked behind the image. Color is Baja.

Today......hum.......I guess I should get the things done that I never got around to doing yesterday. Not sure what happened to my day, but it kind of got away from me. So...........today I will finish my Christmas cards.

Have a great day!

Monday, December 15, 2008

Another simple card. Judy S brought me this stamp to play with - pretty cute, huh? The stamp is from Imaginations. I used Kraft and artichoke.
Had a wonderful time at Sherry's yesterday. She made homemade soup, salad and dessert - oh boy, was it yummy!
Today I have to get my Christmas cards finished, get a package ready to mail and tonight we have our Shoebox Club. I'm glad we're not doing a project - just eating and having fun!
Enjoy your day!

Sunday, December 14, 2008

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas - and a white Christmas at that! Everything looks so pretty and white outside this morning.

Today's card is done with SU's Snow Swirled set. I really like this tree. I added some Micro brads to the tree. Colors are avacado, chocolate, riding hood red.

Today will be a fun day - getting together with Sherry, Emily and Deb this afternoon. A little stamping and some homemade soup (Sherry's making clam chowder and potato soup - yum!)

Enjoy your day!

Saturday, December 13, 2008

Good morning. Something a little different this morning. This is a stair-step card I copied from Sherry. The first picture is how it looks folded up and held together with the ribbon. The second picture is unfolded. Kind of clever and unusual and very easy to make.

I hope you all got a chance to see the moon last night. It was absolutely beautiful.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Friday, December 12, 2008

More snowmen. This was another color combination I really liked for these guys.

My Christmas cards are almost done - I would have finished them yesterday but I ran out of ribbon. Hopefully one of my friends will have some I can "borrow" so I can finish them up. Today I just need to do the letter I will put in the ones for the out of town people.

Have a wonderful day!

Thursday, December 11, 2008

Back to white on white. Background is the snowflake embossing folder, lines are done with the scor-pal, thank you is embossed with white. Snowflake is from cuttlebug and is popped up.

Class last night was great fun! What a wonderful group of ladies. You all are the best!

Today I am going to...................... I really have no idea yet. I may work on my Christmas cards, or I may lay on the sofa all day and read a book. (probably not, but it sounds good!)

Enjoy your day!

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

Yet another snowman card. I would never have thought of using these colors, but I saw it on a blog somewhere and decided to give it a try. I like it! Colors are cocoa, chocolate and teal.

Tonight is my December card class. I combine all 6 classes for one big class in December. I add a little food and hopefully everyone has a little fun! So, I'm off to prepare food and get the class area set up!

Happy stampin'

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

A nice, simple card today. I used an old SU set called Peaceful Wishes for this one. Card is white with saraha sand - ink is artichoke. I used a white pen to color in the little circles.

Lots of errands to do today - not my favorite thing, but a necessity. Hope it's not going to be as cold as yesterday if I have to be out running around. I think we are finally seeing the beginning of the winter weather - darn!

Happy stampin'

Way too cute! Judy S showed us a calendar topper that her sister-inlaw had done with this snowman and I fell in love with it. Of course it is an old stamp (Printworks) and neither Judy or I had it. Well, her sweet sister-inlaw stamped a bunch of them and sent them to us! Wow! Thanks Peg! So these are what I've done so far. I think part of what I loved about Peg's calendar topper was the color - it is so darn cute in yellow, so I copied her colors for the one below. It's hard to see in the photo, but I did add some glitter to the top of the hat and the stars on both cards.

Off to work on getting class projects ready for Wednesday night.

Enjoy your day!

Sunday, December 7, 2008

Aren't these snowmen just the cutest? They're from a SU set called Holiday Lineup. I don't use a lot of stamps that need to be colored, but these were just so fun I did several of them, all in different color combinations - this was one of my favorites. I used artichoke and cocoa to color the snowmen, card is artichoke and chocolate.

I must work on class projects today. So I am spending the day in my stamping room until they are done!

Go Broncos!

Saturday, December 6, 2008

How simple is this - but pretty darn cute. An old SU stamp and some embossed snowflakes for the background.

I didn't get much done during the day yesterday. I was trying to work on class projects, but they just weren't coming out like I wanted. I finally gave it a rest and when Deb came over last night I just played around with some fun snowmen cards. Maybe I will have better luck today!

Enjoy your weekend!

Friday, December 5, 2008

This is one of the cards I made when I was trying to decide on my Christmas cards. I am using this set but ended up with a different design. Stamp is SU's To You and Yours - colors are Riding Hood red, chocolate and kraft.

I worked on my Christmas cards all day yesterday. I have all the parts and pieces cut and stamped for all 80 cards - now just need to assemble. (I think I should have picked this one - definitely less parts and pieces than what I decided to do)

Happy stampin'

Thursday, December 4, 2008

I saw this card somewhere out in blogland and just had to copy it. Stamped image (SU Upsy Daisy) is embossed in white on top note die. Small tag is also embossed in white. Printed paper is SU from Manchester designer paper.

It is amazing what I can get accomplished when I stay focused all day. I made a big dent in my Christmas gifts yesterday. Yea! Today I will get them put together and hopefully get to work on my Christmas cards.

Enjoy your day!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Another white on white card. Are you tired of seeing these yet? I hope not, they are one of my favorites and I still have more. I embossed the snowflake on this one instead of using the die. Lines are done with the scor-pal and the bottom is the snowflake embossing folder.

Yesterday was spent running errands, then class last night. Didn't feel like I accomplished much. But today I am staying home and will concentrate on trying to get an idea for Christmas gifts from my head onto paper.

Have a great day!

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Just a simple, any occasion card today. Stamp is Close to My Heart, ovals are done with nestabilities, ribbon is SU. Colors are SU Baja Breeze and Bayou.

Errands today and class tonight. Hope to spend some time figuring out Christmas gifts.

Have a wonderful day!

Monday, December 1, 2008

More of the top note die from SU. Stamps are also SU - Lovely as a Tree and the new Winter Post set. Thanks to Sherry for letting me play with her Winter Post set last week! The skaters were stamped first, then masked off before stamping the trees. Colors are Hunter & kraft.
I had a full day of football yesterday - my in-laws showed up 2 hours early - yikes! I love them to death, but had planned on getting a few more things done in the morning. But, what the heck - it was a nice day - made even better when the Broncos won!
Have class tonight so will need to do some class prep today. Hopefully I can get myself organized today so I can get started on my Christmas cards and gifts. Is it really the first of December? I need another month (at least) added in here somewhere!
Enjoy your day!
