Whew, I shouldn't have left my cooler running last night....my entire house smells like smoke this morning.  The fire close to us has grown to 10,000 acres and I-70 was closed last night due to smoke.  One of the scary parts is that they say the fire is on a path leading to 50 gas well pads.  Not good!

Have no idea where my motivation  has gone.....must be the heat....haven't accomplished much the last couple of days..... maybe it will come back today.....

And on a serious note today.......please keep Colorado in your thoughts and prayers.  We are being ravaged by the wild fires and it seems there isn't a day that goes by when there isn't a report of a new fire.  We on the western slope had been spared until yesterday when a fire broke out about 10 miles from here....... there is no danger to us in Grand Junction, but the area is a wild horse range and close to the small town of DeBeque.  The worst news comes from the eastern side of Colorado with the fires casuing tens of thousands of people to be evacuated and hundreds of homes burned to the ground.  Please keep the fire fighters and all the people who are dealing with the effects of these fires in your prayers........and pray for rain......lots of it!

um......not sure what I'm doing today.  I had planned on doing some more yard work this morning, but I'm not sure the weather is going to cooperate.   But, oh, it would be nice if we would acutally get some rain!!!  Can't believe that June is almost over....that means it's time to get started on class projects for the next month so I may concentrate on that today.

Project Sunday - another small candle mat, this one is 11". 

A 'birthday celebration' with my son today.  Since I was gone last week on my birthday we decided to celebrate my birthday today......going to Rifle Falls.....hopefully it will be cooler there....these 100 degree days are not my cup of tea.......should be some nice photo opportunities too!

Photo Saturday - anyone remember these old metal chairs?  .....my grandparents had these (only they were red, as I recall)...saw them in several places in Estes Park.....brought back good memories.

I spent the entire day/evening yesterday trying to get things cleaned out and reorganized in my stamp room...what a job!  I made good progress (the wool stuff is all organized now) but the rest will have to wait til next week.  (hope I don't lose my momentum before it gets finished :) 

The Good Time Girls are coming to crop today....woo hoo! Should be a fun day.....I just need to figure out what I'm going to work on....there's plenty to choose from, that's for sure :)

Well, I know I said I was going to do yard work today.....but.....I changed my mind again (a girl's prerogative ya know).   My stamp room is just totally out of control and I'm feeling the need to do some re-organizing....I've got to figure out what to do with all this wool stuff I'm collecting.  So, that's what I'm going to tackle today.

I originally had planned on doing some yard work today, but my house is getting beyond dirty and I can't stand it even one more day......so I will do some cleaning today and put off the yard work til tomorrow.  Also need to get things ready for class tonight.

The card - just a simple layout, but rather colorful.  Stamp is from Hero Arts and I inked it up with a variety of markers.    Meant to add some bling to the flower centers, but forgot to do that before I took the picture.

Have a whole list of errands to do today.......the grocery store is at the top of the list since I have no food in the house.  (can't even make a p & b sandwich since I have no bread).  Maybe I can get some more stamping done this afternoon....I was on quite a roll yesterday.

Back to the real world today :(   I am excited about using some of my new goodies though so I think I am going to spend the day stamping.  (in between watering my poor dried out lawn, that is!)

Too much fun!!!!  We pretty much covered the entire spectrum of crafting shops yesterday - wool shops, stamping store, scrapbook stores and knitting (yarn) store.  I'm so excited about my new stash of pretty wool.........

Today will be a nice, laid back, relaxing day.  We're staying home and crafting the entire day!  Couldn't ask for a better way to spend my birthday.

Aw...these girls are wearing me out....I'm old, ya know.....having a hard time keeping up with them.  A full day yesterday with a trip to Estes Park .......great little scrapbook store there (I found room for a few purchases:)  Then it was on to Denver and shopping at Archiver's (yep, a few more purchases), quilt stores and dinner at Joe's Crab Shack.  We were so tired last night that we didn't even get any crafting done!  Thanks Sherry & Deb for another fabulous day!!!!!  Today it's more shopping......... and hopefully some crafting time tonight.

We made it over the mountains safe and sound - although I was wondering there for a bit as the car was loaded down with all the stuff that Deb brought with her...hehe:)  I can't buy too much because there isn't room in the car :)  The girls totally spoiled me last night with a homecooked dinner, shopping, a homemade dessert (yummy strawberry cheesecake) and then some stitchin' time.  And all I had to do was eat, shop and stitch.....Thanks Deb & Sherry!  And the good times continue today with a trip to Estes Park and then some shopping in Denver.

Project Sunday - this is the summer 12 x 12 framed project we did a couple weeks ago.  Almost everything was printed in SU's MDS, then punched or cut out and added to the background sheet. 

A little more yard work this morning, then it's on to Quilter's Corner for some stitching time this afternoon.  Then.....aw yes....tonight it's another birthday celebration, this time with Deb and Emily.

The card - this card didn't really photograph well (and I tried several times).  It is really much prettier than it shows. The image and senitment (from Inkadinkado) was stamped in Sahara Sand on white, and then just matted on Sahara Sand. 

And the festivities have begun......it's June....and that means it's my birthday month!   I have such a great bunch of friends that my birthday celebration always seems to stretch out for several days/weeks.  Anyway, last night was our Shoebox Club.....and we got to celebrate my birthday a little early (it's not for another week)  .....yummy homemade coconut cream pie (by Judy S) and great gifts.  Thanks, girls for a great night!  Today, Judy S and I are doing a birthday celebration starting with breakfast, then a little shopping and then a movie - yep, it will be a good day! 

I have to say to whoever the person was who suggested the Fisherman's Friend cough drops - you were right - they do taste awful!!!!  But, they do work!  I actually slept the whole night in bed last night instead of the recliner.  I had to get up several times and take one, but then I was able to go right back to sleep!  Yay!  Thank you for the suggestion!

Ah....this cold is starting to wear me down.  It's not so bad during the day, but when I lay down the coughing starts...ugh....sleeping in the recliner the last two nights has left me a little on the sleep-deprived side.  But, enough with the whining......my plan is to try and get some yard work done today....we'll see.

Project Sunday - wool applique -  really liked the shape of this oval table mat, just something a little different.  This one measures about 19" x 13".

I seem to have picked up a nasty cold bug from somewhere - yuk!.  My energy level is pretty much zero.....and I have lots to get done this week, so I can only hope that it doesn't last long!
