This is another layout from from Scrapbooking class. It is part of a 4-page layout (the journaling is on the other part) This scrapbook class has really put me back into the scrapbooking mode - now I just need to take more time to get pages done. Since I have class on Monday night I guess I better find the time real soon!

It is supposed to be windy today - gusts up to 4o mph - so I think I am going to take a break from the yard work and get some things done in the house.

Happy scrappin'

No flowers -just for you, Tracy! My daughter commented that I was doing a lot of flowery cards lately. You can tell she doesn't see most of my cards because that is mostly what I do. But she did motivate me to do some cards with something other than flowers, so this is one of the cards I did on Sunday. I used one of the Cuttlebug embossing folders for the background. (although I don't have a Cuttlebug I used it in my Zip-e-mate)

Another day of yard work for me today - if the weather cooperates that is. It was supposed to be sunny and in the 80's today - right now it's cloudy, the wind is blowing and it's pretty cool outside. Maybe I will have an excuse to stay inside and stamp? or scrapbook? or clean up the mess in my stamp room? or clean house? (probably not!)

Have a happy day!

It's Monday again! How did that happen so fast? I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I spent yesterday stampin' and making birthday cards. Now I have a nice little pile to take over to the church in the next day or so.
This is a card I made yesterday for one of our church members' little boy who is turning 1. I don't make a lot of "kid" cards so I really had to search for something to use for this one - but after combining a couple of ideas I saw I managed to come up with this one.
Today is going to be a yard work day. The sun is shining, it's supposed to be in the 70's and the roses are just waiting to be trimmed.
Have a great day!

It's spring! I love tulips - probably because they are one of the first bursts of color after winter. I've always wanted to plant some in my yard and have just never found the right place to put them. I saw these in the park yesterday and just had to take my camera over and get some pictures.

And then you see the first signs of spring in my yard - good ol' dandelions - don't ya just love those pretty little yellow flowers? - not! I seem to have a bumper crop of the little things this year.
Have a great day! Back to cards and layouts tomorrow. (just have to throw a little photography in once in a while!)

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! It looks like it's going to be a beautiful day here, although the temperatures are still going to be cool I guess. But the sun is shining so that's OK.
I had a great evening last night with my stampin' buddy Sherry. We went out for Chinese food, then came back and worked for several hours. I am trying to get a stash of birthday cards done for church so that's what I was working on. I was duplicating cards but made the mistake of doing one that was a little time consuming so didn't get as many done as I had hoped. The next ones will be a little less labor intensive.

This layout is one I did for my Scrapbook class. I had used other paper for class, but it didn't work for my pictures, so I used the same layout, just changed the paper. The colors are a little "out of the box" for me - I don't normally work with bright colors. (and most of my friends will tell you that green is not my favorite color!) We do the layout in class without pictures and then the "homework" for class is to add the pictures and bring them back for show and tell the next month. It is always fun to see what everyone has done and how different the pages look with each person's personal touch.

Happy scrappin'.

Here is a card I did a couple weeks ago. I just got this SU set and found this layout that I really liked online so had to copy it. It was a little more time consuming than I thought it would be, but I really liked the way it came out.

I had such a great day yesterday - the stars must have been aligned just right because things went well - I got a lot done, caught up on some long over-do paper work and a lot of misc things. Then last night I went to a SU workshop at my friend Kim's. It was a wonderful workshop, as always, and we did some great cards. But the best part was, it was a Mystery Hostess Workshop and I won the drawing - so I got all the freebies! Wow! Made my day even better! Thanks, Kim!!!

Have a wonderful day!

I can't believe it's already Thursday. Where has the week gone? I haven't accomplished much of what was on my to-do list this week. Shame on me! Oh well, there's always next week.
This is a card I did quite a while back, but as I was going through cards to photograph I realized I really liked this card. The background behind the flowers was done using Alcohol Inks on glossy paper. The flower was embossed on top of that. This was such fun to do - why haven't I done more with these inks? I am going to play with these again soon.
(Surprise - I'm actually posting a card that wasn't done with Stampin' Up - I do those once in a while!)
Have a happy stampin & scrappin day!

This is a layout I did using pictures from a weekend at my friend Celisa's cabin. I think the idea for the actual layout came from one of the Close to My Heart idea books. I took so many pictures that this is part of a 4-page spread. It was a totally awesome weekend - nothing but stampin' and scrappin' all day and night and then riding 4-wheeler's on Sunday. It was my first time on a 4-wheeler and I loved it!
Happy Scrappin'! More tomorrow.

OK - this is the about the 3rd time I've tried to post today. All I'm getting for my picture is a box with a little red x. What's up with that? I have a scrapbook layout I wanted to share, but it may have to wait until later.

I did get some work done in the yard today. Got most of the weeds sprayed. Die, weeds, die! It was beautiul out today - I even got a bit of sunburn.

I have a class tonight so must go get ready for that. I hope the picture thing will work for me later.

The site isn't allowing me to post a picture so I'm off to do some yardwork and hopefully will be able to post this afternoon.

Monday, April 21, 2008

Why are Monday's always so weird? It's been a typical Monday morning for me - nothing seems to working as it should. I've tried to do this post 3 times, hopefully this one will work.

I had planned on getting a start on the weeds in the yard today - however, the wind is blowing and it's downright chilly outside. Maybe tomorrow.

I've been cleaning up my mess from the weekend. It seemed as if I worked in one area, made a mess, then moved on to another area, making another mess. Boy was I a slob. Because I have a class tonight I must get the class area cleaned up - that's next on my to do list.

This is a card I did Saturday evening. I copied a layout from the web, but changed the colors and used Prima flowers instead of cutting out a stamped flower.

I am going to try and get some more scrapbook page layouts photographed in the next few days so I can alternate between showing you cards and scrapbook pages.

Now I'm off to do some more cleaning up and getting ready for tonight's class.

Have a wonderful and happy day!

It's a windy Sunday - warm, but very windy. I had planned on starting work on the yard today but the wind is my reason to put that off for another day. I do hope the wind goes away though since the weeds are getting bigger every day. And the lawn needs water and the rose bushes need trimmed - and I guess spring is here!

This is a card I did for our Shoebox Club last week. Simple and quick, but I liked the way it turned out.

I finished my other class project yesterday - well, except for adding a few embellishments and decoration. So now I have two projects ready to put on the class schedule. Yipee!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

For all the world to see. These are my wonderful, lovely children - Jeff and Tracy. This picture was taken on a trip they took to Alaska last summer. It was one I happened to have on my computer and thought it was a good one to play with.

I'm still experimenting - as you can see, I changed the template today. You may see different ones in the next few days until I figure out exactly what I want.

Productive day!

I had a very productive day yesterday. I was working on a new class project in the afternoon. My friend Kim came and kept me motivated - we worked until almost 11:00 last night - and I actually finished that project and got started on another class project. So, in the next few days I will have two new class projects scheduled. Woo Hoo!

The card I'm posting today is one I did a couple weeks ago. I copied it from a card I saw on the web (I do that a LOT!)
Stay tuned - more tomorrow.

Garden Silhouette card

I just did this post and it ended up somewhere in cyber space. It certainly isn't showing up anywhere that I can see. Have no clue what I did wrong, but I'm trying it again.
This is a card I did with a Stampin' Up set. I fell in love with this set and my awesome friend Emily gave it to me! Thanks Emily! I have used it on a lot of cards, different colors, different layouts. You will probably see more cards with this same set.

Oops!

OK - I also need to proof read these before I hit publish. You'd think I'd be able to spell Becky since it's my name too, wouldn't you. Who knows how I ended up with "Beggy". And the picture thing didn't work either - I am going to have to ask my friend Deb for help!!!!

Another scrapbook page

Another scrapbook page - I followed a Beggy Higgins sketch for this layout. (love her books!) I am trying to get the pixel thing right on these pictures so when you click on the picture you can see the whole thing. Another learning thing, sooner or later I will get this figured out!

Winter Scrapbook page

I have really been trying to take the time to do more scrapbooking. I realized awhile back that it had been almost a year since I had actually scrapbooked any pictures. Not good! The pictures are piling up! I went a little crazy taking pictures after I got a digital camera so now I have tons more that need to be scrapbooked. These are pictures I took last year - I love to take scenery pictures. I had a rep tell me once that she saw my style as clean & simple with a little bit of funky. At this point I am going for mostly clean & simple - funky takes more time. But I was pleased with the way this layout turned out.

Bind-it-all project

OK, here we go again. This will be fun if I can ever figure everything out!

These pictures are of a class project I did using the bind-it-all. It's a 6 x 6 book using a line of Basic Grey paper.

The front and back covers are made from chipboard, covered with the patterned paper. The inside pages are cardstock, decorated with patterned paper. I added envelopes, circles, half pages, etc in between each 6 x 6 page. This was a fun project to do.

Welcome to my blog!

This is the first of what I hope will be many and frequent posts of me sharing my love of stamping and scrapbooking. I am in the process of figuring this whole blog thing out so I hope you will bear with me during the learning process.
This picture was taken in Janauary in my back yard. We had way too much snow and cold weather this winter and now I'm looking forward to spring, warm weather and flowers instead of snow.

Tomorrow I will try for post showing a scrapbooking or stamping project.
