The card - super simple - the strip is a border embossing folder Cuttlebug. Just added a snowflake die cut on top of the strip. Sentiment is from SU. Colors are wisteria and concord.
Went to see Mission Impossible yesterday - very entertaining (of course I could be entertained just watching Tom Cuise!) But it was a fun movie. Now it's time to actually get some work done I think. Still have to finish taking down the Christmas decorations and my stamp room is a disaster area all on it's own. So, those two things are at the top of my list of things to do today.
Enjoy your day!

The card - a super simple one. Snowmen are from SU. Sentiment is Hero Arts.
My original plan today was to get the Chrismas decorations taken down.....but...today is Sara's (my dughter-in-law) birthday and I had given her the choice of going out for dinner or I would cook. She choose a home cooked meal (tacos and enchiladas) so that means a trip to the grocery store this morning. (I was sure she was going to choose going out for dinner ...I guessed wrong!) So, I will be shopping and cooking today.......maybe I can get a start on the Christmas decorations.....but if not there is always tomorrow.
Have a wonderful day!

The card - stamped image is from Northwoods Rubber Stamps. I colored the trees and sky with copics.
It's been too long.......since I've done any stamping that is. So today is going to be a stamping day and since Judy S will be joining me for part of the day maybe I can stay focused and get a lot done :)
Enjoy your day!

Photo Saturday - sunrise Wednesday morning.
The shopping is done, the gifts are wrapped, the last batch of peanut brittle is made......now just a trip to the bakery and grocery for a couple of last minute items and I am good to go! A little football (Go Broncos!) and then dinner out with Jeff & Sara, Bob & Judy and a drive to look at Christmas lights. Aw....Life is Good!
Have a wonderful Christmas Eve!

The card - the trees are made with SU's pennant stamp set. Sentiment is from Hero Arts. Background embossing folder is from SU. Colors are kraft, vanilla, cherry cobbler and artichoke.
Time to get the presents wrapped and make one more batch of peanut brittle. (it was going to be 2 batches until I discovered that there appears to be a shortage of raw peanuts and there is none to be had anywhere in town! So I will have to stretch the last batch since I only have one bag of peanuts left :)
Have a wonderful day!

The Christmas shopping is all done - woo hoo! I have a couple of handmade things to finish and more peanut brittle to make, but that's about it. So, today I'm taking a break and Judy S and I are going to Delta for lunch and some scrapbook shopping at The Scrappy Moose. Fun!
Enjoy your day!

The card - love this funky snowman from Stamps by Judith. Embossing folder is from Cuttlebug.
Have to get my utility room cleaned up this morning - I was working on a sewing project last night and made a mess (nothing unusual about that :) but they are delivering my new washer and dryer this morning (I hope!) so I better get it picked up. Then it's on to the rest of the house since I have a Christmas get-together here tonight.

Ah, looking a bit more like Christmas this morning - a little dusting of snow on the ground! Judy S and I are planning a shopping day so I guess I better get out and shovel the snow so I can be ready to go to breakfast and do some Christmas shopping.
Have a wonderful day!

The card - stamped image is from SU. Colors are artichoke and white.
Most of the Christmas cards are done and ready to mail. Yay! I do have a few left that have to be put together, but I ran out of ribbon so I have to borrow some from my friend Deb.
I had thought that having to buy a new computer so close to Christmas was not the best thing, but at least a new computer is kind of a fun thing! But having to replace the washing machine ......not so much! Yep, it sprung a leak yesterday so I had to go buy a new one. Dang, not good timing! Oh well, such is life!
Have some gift things I need to work on today. So, I'm off to be crafty!
Enjoy your day!

Project Sunday - this is the Winter class project we did last week.
Ah ha - I actually made some progress yesterday. Got my Christmas cards figured out and my Christmas letter done! Now it's just a matter of stamping, cutting and putting together 80 of the cards. Guess what I'm doing today!
Enjoy your day.

Having issues with the placement this morning - can't get the picture or the writing where I want it- oh well, guess this works as well.
Think I will try to work on my Christmas letter today. Still need to figure out my Christmas card too - and I don't have a clue for either one. Hopefully inspiration will come!
Enjoy your day!

The card - stamped image is from SU. Sentiment is Hero Arts. Colors are cherry cobbler, kraft, and espresso.
I was gone for half the day doing errands yesterday, then Jeff came by and was here for a couple of hours and I still managed to make a total mess in half the house in what was left of the day. Now, how the heck did that happen? I guess I better get it cleaned up since we have our Shoebox Club tonight.
Enjoy your day!

The card - stamped image is from Penny Black. I inked the stamp with kraft, then used markers to ink the greenery (artichoke) and letters (cherry cobler). The card is kraft, mat is emobssed with folder from Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby brand).
Not sure what my plan is for the day. Have to get ready for class tonight but then I'll have to see what I should start on next.
Have a wonderful day!

So this is what my basement/classroom area looks like with 30 people stamping, making cards, eating and chatting. The card making was pretty much done by this time and most people had moved on to the food. It was a great night!
Today's goal is to get my class projects cut and bagged for this week's classes.

The Christmas card class event went very well last night. I just have to say that I have the best group of students ever! They make me laugh and they are always so appreciative. So, a big thank you to each and every one of them for making it all worth while!!!!
Enjoy your day!

The card - stamped images are from Unity. Colors are kraft, artichoke and cherry cobbler. I embossed the background after I stamped the 'joy'. The tree is cut out and popped up.
How about those Broncos? Another win and in overtime no less. I might become a Tebow fan after all - well...... maybe! One more class project to do this morning and then hopefully I will at least get the outside Christmas decorations done this afternoon - at least that's my plan.
Have a wonderful day!

Photo Saturday - a bit of fall color
Finishing up one set of class projects this morning and then maybe I'll get started on the Christmas decorations this afternoon. Loving the nice sunny days we're having, but it sure doesn't do much to put me in the Christmas mood. Maybe some holiday music will help :)
Enjoy your day!
Friday, November 25, 2011
The card - sentiment is from Tim Holtz. Background is half of the brick embossing folder from Tim Holtz. I inked the folder lightly to make it stand out a bit more. Leaves are punched from Tim Holtz paper.
I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. I certainly did. Although neither of my kids were here, my friends made the day special and so much fun! Today I am trying to decide between putting up the Christmas decorations or working on class projects - both of which need to be done. I'm really not quite ready for the Christmas decorations yet, so I'm leaning more towards the latter option. We'll see.

The card - stamped word image is from Hero Arts. The leaf is punched out of some Tim Holtz paper, sprayed with some water and wadded up. Colors are kraft, espresso and vanilla.
Working on class projects today. I thought I was so far ahead there for awhile, now it seems there's a whole lot of class projects that need to be done all at the same time - how did that happen?
Enjoy your day!
Monday, November 21, 2011
The card - images are from SU. The saying was printed on the computer using SU's MDS. The leaf was stamped on vanilla using espresso and then I sponged some mustard on it. Leaf embossing folder on the background is from Hobby Lobby. Colors are suede, espresso and vanilla.
Oh my, the beginning of another week! and Thanksgiving week at that! I'm losing time here....not a good thing. Still trying to figure out this new computer - getting there, but it's definitely a process. Need to get things cleaned up and organized downstairs and get ready for class tonight. It's going to be a busy week!
Have a wonderful day.
Sunday, November 20, 2011
The card - a very simple one today. This is a matching stamp and embossing folder. I stamped the image with kraft (on kraft paper) and then lined it up in the embossing folder - rather a cool effect. I did discover it is a bit bigger so in order to have a top layer to wrap my ribbon around I had to make this a 5 x 7 card.
Going to try for a stamping day - I'm feeling a little discombomulated with all the out of the ordinary things that have been going on around here - I think I need a day to do something ordinary and hopefully be productive at the same time :)
Enjoy your day!

The card - stamps are from SU. I inked the stamp with kraft, then sponged some dusty durango here and there before stamping. Colors are kraft, durango and vanilla.
I apologize for the late post today - my computer was dead this morning. And I do mean dead. So, my son & I have spent the day trying to get this new one set up. Wow - what a time consuming process. I still have lots to do and figure out, but I'm at least making some progress with it. My son has gone home so now I'm on my own - we'll see how that works out!

The card - not much stamping here. Sentiment is from CTMH. Colors are cajun, olive, kraft and mustard. I sprayed the die cut leaves with water, then wadded them up to give them a little more texture.
Need to work on some class stuff today. And do some laundry......and pick up some of the mess that somehow has spread to almost every room in the house (not sure how that happens).
Have a great day!

The card - stamped image is from SU. Sentiment is from CTMH. I colored the basket of pears with copics. Although it doesn't show up well in the photo the basket is on a vanilla circle, layered on another vanilla circle.Colors are wasabi, espresso and vanilla.

Have a wonderful day!

He never ceases to amaze me! This is my son Jeff in his Halloween costume. He looked online and found a picture of the outfit he wanted from Star Wars, and with only a picture to go by, went to the store and purchased the material and then proceeded to sew up this costume. How cool is that? (I certainly could not have done it - I have to have a pattern and step by step instructions for anything like that!) I forgot to ask him how he managed to make his hair and beard gray - it's normally light brown.
Aw....what to do today....... not sure. Probably should do some laundry. Will probably watch some football (and hope for the best for the Broncos!) Maybe get some stamping done. Can you tell I don't really have a plan for the day?Enjoy your day!
