Countdown - 9 days.  Have to take a break from packing today and go get a haircut.  Then I need to exchange a couple of light fixtures.  Most of the packing is done - I say most because I still have to do my stamp room/work room.  That one is going to be...... um...can't even think of word to describe it :)

The card - a file folder card made with SU's envelope punch board.  I cut the front of this one smaller for a different look.

Countdown - 10 days.  Whew, still lots of work to get done.  But I made a lot of progress yesterday and hopefully will be able to finish packing up the utility room today.

To answer a question from yesterday, the background strip was done by inking up a clear rectangle block and then stamping that on the card.

The countdown has begun - only 11 more days til moving day.  Oh my!  It seems like there is still an awful lot to get done in that amount of time.  I got some packing done yesterday and hauled 4 boxes of stuff to Goodwill - more of the same today!

It's dumpster loading day.  We have a big ol' red dumpster sitting in the front of the house in town and today we're loading it up with all the junk we've torn out of the house.  Oh fun!

Whew...no more shopping for a few days!  I'm exhausted!  Taking a bit of a break today - my company is leaving this morning - I'll take them to the airport, come home and maybe take a nap :), then it's off to the house in town to meet the guy about the fence.  Have to say I have accomplished way more with my cousin and her daughter here to help than I would have by myself.  They've been great!   So looking forward to a Friday night crafting night with Deb tonight - it's been way too long and I really need a little relaxation.

The card - a little grunge, some washi tape and a sentiment.  That's it.  Pretty darn easy.  There is some black bling on there in places but it didn't show up well in the photo.

Another day of shopping coming up.  I did make a lot of progress yesterday though  -  have a new microwave, dishwasher, toilets, and bathroom vanities being delivered on Saturday.  Woo hoo!  That was most of the big purchases, so today it's lights, faucets and door handles that we're looking for.  It has been great to have my cousin Marleen here to help with the decisions - not sure I would have made this much progress without her!

Oh, and just so that you all don't have the wrong impression that I'm wonder woman, I haven't really been stamping in the middle of all this - I made all the cards I've been posting a couple weeks ago when I spent a couple of days doing nothing but stamping :)

The card - a super easy Halloween card.  Stamped images are from SU.  I drew the lines with orange and black markers. 

Whew, this marathon shopping is hard work.  But I did make some decisions on a few things, so that is a good thing.  Have to make chicken and noodles for dinner tonight so I'm off to make the noodles before we leave for another full day of shopping.

My cousin from California and her daughter arrived last night - we stayed up way too late visiting and I didn't get nearly enough sleep!  But that's ok, it's going to be fun having them around this week!  Today I think we're going to go shopping....toilets, light fixtures, faucets, bathroom vanities - oh yeah, lots of fun stuff to pick out.  But it will be helpful to have someone along to help me make decisions :) 

Tonight is my last class for a while.  Decided not to stress myself out while moving so I won't be doing any classes in November :(  I'm going to miss seeing all my students this next month.

The house in town is finally ready for the painter to start today. Whew!  There's not much left in there except the kitchen cabinets, stove and refrigerator.  It's stripped pretty bare - I guess you could call that starting over :).  Now I have a bit of a break and will only have to do some shopping and more packing :)

Today, though I have to get this house cleaned up a bit.  Haven't been home long enough to do anything here and I've got company arriving from out of town tonight.  Oh my, time to straighten up and at least move the boxes out of the spare room.

Wool project

Project Sunday - aw, finally a finished wool project.  I started this piece quite a while ago but just finished it last Sunday.  (I haven't had much stitchin' time lately :)

We are hoping to be able to finish tearing things out and cleaning up at the house in town today.  This has turned into a bit of a bigger project than I imagined.  One thing has led to another and is taking a bit more work than I had thought.  (isn't that the way it always works?)

Photo Saturday - the view from my dining room window.  I don't take too many pictures of this view to the south because it is just a parking lot - but in the fall it always looks so pretty when the trees are changing color.

The sale of the house still doesn't seem quite real - probably because I'm still living here I guess.  But only for 3 more weeks :(  Back to the house in town today - we only have this weekend to get everything done and ready for the painter to start on Monday.  It's probably going to be a long couple of days.  A couple of Jeff's friends are coming to help today and that should make things go a little faster.  Tearing out all the baseboards in the house and removing bathroom sinks and toilets are all good jobs for 'the guys' :)

It's final (finally!)  Closing on the house this morning.  Just have to go sign a few papers and pick up a check - woo hoo!  After a trip to the bank it will be back to the house in town to get some more clean-up done!  Whew - I will be glad when this part is done.  (I think I'd rather be packing :)  But I'm getting excited about how different the house is going to look!

The card - a little gunge (from SU) stamped on the small piece, an added sentiment and I added a cutout flower from the printed paper.  Chevrons were made with SU's chevron punch.

I really have to get some laundry done this morning and then it's back to the house in town this afternoon.  I never expected it to take 3 days to just get the kitchen cleaned up and ready to paint!  (that darn contact paper!)  Then it's back home to get ready for class tonight.

The card - washi tape!  I used SU's new 'Stylish Stripes' embossing folder and then put the washi tape in the stripes.  The embossing doesn't show up well in the picture, but it looks pretty cool in real life.

Back to the house in town today.  I guess I didn't realize just how much work needs to be done .....going to have to really work hard the next few days.  I discovered that contact paper that has been on kitchen cabinet shelves for over 20 years is not easy to peel up :)

Awww...I had a wonderful, relaxing afternoon stitching yesterday.  We had a small group, but it was so nice to spend some time away from the house and I actually finished one of the projects I had started weeks ago.  This week a large part of my time will need to be spent at the house in town getting it ready for the painter to start next week.  Looking forward to Stamp Club with Deb tonight - another fun little break!

Project Sunday - oops - no project today, so I'm sharing one of Jeff's fall photos.  We got a lot of early snow in the mountains this year so fall got cut a little short.  Maybe I can get out one day and get a few pictures of some local color :)

Taking a little break today - even though Laura has closed her shop a group of us wanted to keep "Black Sheep Sunday' going.  So, today I'm going to take some time to do a little stitching with a great group of ladies and hopefully make some progress on projects I got started several weeks ago.

Photo Saturday - the evening sky last night - makes it hard to remember all the reasons I wanted to sell this place :)

Somehow I ended up being busy all day yesterday and still didn't get anything packed.  Not sure how that happened.  But there's a lot of stuff gone from the shed (a good thing) and I did get a small load of stuff taken into the house in town.  Today there's some ladies coming to look over some old 'antique' stuff and I'm hoping to get a few more things boxed up.

The card - The sentiment (I think it's an old one from Daisy D's)  is stamped and embossed in white on the black strip.  The striped piece on the bottom is washi tape.  Just added some prima flowers and a few pearls. 

Not sure what room I'm working on today.  I got everything in the bedroom packed up yesterday - well, except for some clothes and personal stuff :)  Took a nice big load of clothes and shoes to Goodwill.  Sure feels good to get some of this stuff cleaned out :)

The card - a washi tape Halloween card.  There is an embossed piece in the background which ended up being mostly covered up - but it's a cool new embossing folder from SU.  The top part of the card is a seperate piece with the sentiment and strips of washi tape - this panel is popped up.  The bottom part is strips of washi tape on top of the embossed panel with some added ribbon.

It's time to start cleaning out some cupboards and closets upstairs.  Not sure exactly which one to start on, but I'm hoping to get started on that today.  Then this afternoon some guys are coming to look over the stuff in the shed to see what kind of goodies they can find to take home :)  By then it will be time to get ready for class tonight.   Another slightly busy day!

The card - another file folder card.  This is a simple one made with a piece of double sided card stock.  How easy is that?  You can tape the sides closed and use it as a pocket card for photos, gift cards, etc.  too. 

Have to get ready for class this morning and then I'm hoping to get some misc.stuff moved into the house in town.  Then it will be time to get ready for class tonight.  A busy day!

The card - I decided to play with a new tool I got a while back - it's called the envelope punch board.  I got it from SU, but it's made by We R Memory Keepers and is also available at Archiver's (and I'm sure other places too).  I haven't made a envelope yet, but I sure had fun making some file folder cards with it!  So many different things you can do with this card! 

 

Here is the front of the card - the flowers are from SU.  I used some 7 Gypsies paper to cover the front and a piece of the inside.

More packing today - I'm hoping to finish the basement today - or at least a good part of it!  My classes for this month start tomorrow and I at least need to get things straightened up and the tables cleaned off :)

Project Sunday - yep, this would be my project this week.  Packing..... making some progress.  This is where I'm stacking the stuff from the basement that will be picked up by the movers.  Sure doesn't seem like there's much there for all the work :).  However there's another stack of stuff that we will moving ourselves and we took at least 4 big boxes of stuff to Goodwill and a load of stuff to the recycle center.  And that's just the stuff from two storage areas.  Still lots of work to do just in the basement.  Hmmm...I'm pretty sure I will be getting rid of even more stuff after I get moved. 

I need to regroup a bit today.  Seems I've managed to make a mess in almost every room in the house.  How the heck do I do that?  So, I'm going to straighten things up a bit and then figure out my plan for the coming week.

What happened to our fall?  I think I missed it!  It's cold and wintry and has already snowed - although I didn't have any snow at my house, there was snow at other places in the valley and plenty on the surrounding mountains.  Yuk!  I want our beautiful fall weather back!
