Well, there is a first time for everything.  I can't believe I broke my record for posting every single day....hm....but I guess there are more important things.  We made our drive to California and after 13 hours on the road we were at the ocean.  However, 2 hours later I was in the hospital emergency room with severe leg pain.  Still here.....have had one surgery, scheduled for another one today.  Guess the veins in my neck and leg are all clogged up with plaque like stuff.  I will be here in the hospital in California for another week or so and then will be staying with my cousin for another few days before I can travel home.  I will certainly be glad to be somewhere other than this hospital bed for sure.  But all is well and I'm doing fine and the Dr says I will be rid of the leg pain after this - oh yay!

And we're off....... on our way to southern California......beaches......family wedding......sunset at the beach.....visiting with family......beaches.....  Woo Hoo!  We're driving straight thru today so it's going to be a rather long day (12 hours from here) - but I'm prepared.  Jeff will probably drive most of the way so I have my book, knitting and of course there's always napping!  Oh yeah, I'm so ready for this trip!

The card - background stamp is an old one I found in my stash, not sure where it's from.  Leaves are a SU die cut and flowers are from prima.  Leaves and background are old olive.

I think about all I have to do today is get my stuff together and pack my suitcase.  Getting so excited - I'm really looking forward to this trip!

The card - flowers and wood grain background are from SU.  I stamped the woodgrain background with smoky slate on a piece of white and then punched out the circle.  The flowers are popped up on the circle.  Colors are white, smoky slate, basic gray and marina mist.

Laundry day - need to get all the clothes washed so I can figure out what I'm taking.  Hoping I can get all organized today so that all I have to do tomorrow is pack my suitcase.

Project Sunday - a little more before and after.  


BEFORE:  the back side of the house faces west.  Not pretty.  Putting up a privacy fence was really high on my list of priorities.











AFTER:  still a work in progress, but much better.  I need to get some umbrellas and do some decorating, but it's a pleasant place to be - and because it's all private I can be out here in my pj's!

The card - I used a framelits die from SU as a stencil and sponged the background (hexagons).  Then I added some splotchy stuff from SU's gorgeous grunge.  A butterfly, sentiment and bling finished it off.  Colors are daffodil and black.

It's time to start getting things in order for our trip to California next week.  Today I'm taking the car in to be serviced, then I'll do a few errands.  Tonight it's time for some stitching with Deb and Emily!

Finally got my flowers planted - woo hoo - glad that job is done!  Glad it's finally getting warm again too - freezing temps in the middle of May are just not right!  Today is my son Jeff's birthday, so we're doing dinner - that means a cooking day for me!

Cold and wet ...... think we're supposed to get even more rain today and it's going to get even colder.  Looks like it's going to be few more days before I can get the flowers planted.  I will be glad when I get them out of my living room :)  But today I need to get some laundry done, the house picked up and get ready for class tonight.  It's going to be a busy week!

Project Sunday - more of the monthly mats I'm doing for a gift.  (April May , June)

Rain, rain, and more rain!  It's been raining most of the night and it's still raining.  I guess that's a good thing, but it doesn't really make for a good day for yard stuff!  In all the years I've been planting flowers this is one of the only times I remember not being able to plant on Mother's Day weekend.  Hmm...guess it will be an indoor day today!

The card - this is the card I did for our Shoebox Club last night.  The background stamps are from SU (gorgeous grunge), the butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch and the banners are dies from SU.  Colors are sahara sand, white and bermuda bay.

Hoping to get some work done in the yard today.  Spent all day yesterday running from one end of town to the other buying dirt, pots and flowers.  I hope the weather cooperates today so I can at least get started.

The card - I just got the banner framelit dies from SU so I had to try them out - layered banners with a sentiment and a touch of color with some Prima flowers.

The class projects are done - woo hoo!  Well, the projects are done and cut, I still have to bag them.  But it's just feels good to have them done!  Today I'm hoping to go get stuff to start on the yard - dirt and pots for planting flowers are at the top of the list.  Shoebox Club tonight - luckily I got that project done yesterday too!

The weather report says there is a slight chance of rain today so I think I'll try to get to work on the rest of the class projects for this month.  It would be really good to have those done so I can concentrate on the yard for the rest of the week.
