The card - Judy S used this stamp from Hero Arts at our Shoebox club a couple weeks ago.  I copied her layout, but changed things up a bit.  The stamped image is embossed with white on kraft with pearls added to the center of the flowers. 


Not sure what my plans are for the day - need to get my stamp room cleaned up for sure!  Maybe if I start with that it will motivate me to do the rest of the house too - lol - I did say maybe :)  I do need to get things together for class tonight too.

The card - I've been working on some 'guy' cards this week.........the background on this card was printed using SU's MDS program.  I die cut a couple of stars and popped them up on the front.  The Happy Birthday is from CTMH and is stamped on black on top of the printed panel.

Movie day - Judy D and I are going to see 'Man on the Ledge' this afternoon.  Guess I should get at least a little work done this morning :)

The card - stamped image is from Penny Black.  The image is stamped with black on a piece of white.  Then I tore the edges and sponged.  I stamped the butterflies a second time,  cut them out and popped them up.

Need to regroup a bit this morning, do some errands and get ready for class tonight.

Project Sunday - I've joined the Smash Book craze.  My Smash book is going to be a place to put all those everyday things that I want to remember but don't want to do an entire scrapbook page about - movies, concerts, quotes, etc.  Just kind of a fun thing with no rhyme or reason.  If you haven't seen these books, google 'smash books' - there's a cute video on You Tube that will give you an idea what these books are all about.  Fun!

I covered the front of mine with some fun paper.  I've only done a couple of pages so far.....and I can't quite seem to achieve the really messy look they do on the video. 

This morning I need to get to work on some wedding invitations that I am doing for some friends of my son's and this afternoon I am going to the quilt store for some stitchin' time (my wool applique project).

The card - stamped images are from Papertrey.  Flower is made by punching three scallop circles and crinkling them up and layering them with a button for the center.  Colors are celery, white and pirouette pink.

The card - stamped images are from SU.  Colors are cherry cobbler, artichoke, black and white.  The label was stamped twice, once with black, then again with cherry cobbler.  The cherry cobbler one is punched out with an oval punch and layered on top of the black label which is popped up.

I have to get class stuff finished up today - not sure why I'm having such a hard time, especially with the scrapbook layouts......they just are not coming together!

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie yesterday - went to see Joyful Noise.  It was a happy movie - no violence, no really bad words, no sex -  ok, it was a little dorky, but the music was great!  I would see it again just to listen to the music!

The card - butterfly stamp is from SU.  I masked off about an inch around the edges of the card, then stamped a music background.  I then stamped off before stamping some butterflies on top of the background.   I stamped a butterfly in black on the background, then stamped another one on a seperate piece, colored it, cut it out and popped it up.

Going to get a hair cut this morning and then I must get busy on class projects.  When I flipped my calendar over I realized that card classes start a week earlier than I thought in February - oh,oh.

The card - stamped images are from SU.  I inked the floral stamp with markers.  I stamped once on the background piece, then I stamped on a seperate piece of paper, embossed the oval, punched it out with a scallop punch, then lined it up with my orginal stamping.  The center was stamped and punched out with an oval punch, and popped up.  The left side of the background is enbossed with swiss dots.  Colors are cherry cobbler and artichoke.

I've become obsessed with the hand stitching thing.....  can't seem to put it down.  I really need to switch gears and get some stamping done.  Maybe I can tear myself away from the needle work today.......at least long enough to work on some class projects.

Project Sunday - this is the project I am working on in the Wool Applique class that Deb & I are taking.  The pieces are cut from felted wool, then the flowers and leaves are fused to the background piece.  (those are the steps we learned to do in class the other night)  Now I have to hand-stitch around all the flowers, centers and leaves.  Uh huh, not a quick and easy project.  I got one flower done last night :)  But when I am finished I will have this nice 18" table mat that is all hand crafted.  

Need to start thinking about class projects for next month so I think it's going to be a stamping day...........

The card - a simple valentine card.  I inked the border stamp (Hero Arts)  with markers (basic grey & cherry cobbler).  The hearts are popped up and the bottom is embossed with swiss dots.

Celebrating Deb & Emily's birthdays tonight so I need to get my house in some sort of order and make some chicken & noodles today. 

Someone asked what wool applique is - I will try to come up with a explanation for that one in a day or two - right now my brain is on overload from all the info from class last night........

The card - a little explanation here.  At our Shoebox Club in December we have an 'ugly stamp' exchange.   Then, in January we have to show a card we made with that 'ugly stamp'.  So, on the left is the 'ugly stamp' I got - courtesy of Alison.  Uh huh....pretty darn ugly!   After some masking,  cutting out little flowers and using the stamp-a-ma-jig, the card on the right is what I came up with.  It was a challenge, but it's pretty amazing what you can do with even an 'ugly stamp'!
