Project Sunday - a little more before and after.  


BEFORE:  the back side of the house faces west.  Not pretty.  Putting up a privacy fence was really high on my list of priorities.











AFTER:  still a work in progress, but much better.  I need to get some umbrellas and do some decorating, but it's a pleasant place to be - and because it's all private I can be out here in my pj's!

The card - I used a framelits die from SU as a stencil and sponged the background (hexagons).  Then I added some splotchy stuff from SU's gorgeous grunge.  A butterfly, sentiment and bling finished it off.  Colors are daffodil and black.

It's time to start getting things in order for our trip to California next week.  Today I'm taking the car in to be serviced, then I'll do a few errands.  Tonight it's time for some stitching with Deb and Emily!

Cold and wet ...... think we're supposed to get even more rain today and it's going to get even colder.  Looks like it's going to be few more days before I can get the flowers planted.  I will be glad when I get them out of my living room :)  But today I need to get some laundry done, the house picked up and get ready for class tonight.  It's going to be a busy week!

Project Sunday - more of the monthly mats I'm doing for a gift.  (April May , June)

Rain, rain, and more rain!  It's been raining most of the night and it's still raining.  I guess that's a good thing, but it doesn't really make for a good day for yard stuff!  In all the years I've been planting flowers this is one of the only times I remember not being able to plant on Mother's Day weekend.  Hmm...guess it will be an indoor day today!

The card - this is the card I did for our Shoebox Club last night.  The background stamps are from SU (gorgeous grunge), the butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch and the banners are dies from SU.  Colors are sahara sand, white and bermuda bay.

Hoping to get some work done in the yard today.  Spent all day yesterday running from one end of town to the other buying dirt, pots and flowers.  I hope the weather cooperates today so I can at least get started.

The class projects are done - woo hoo!  Well, the projects are done and cut, I still have to bag them.  But it's just feels good to have them done!  Today I'm hoping to go get stuff to start on the yard - dirt and pots for planting flowers are at the top of the list.  Shoebox Club tonight - luckily I got that project done yesterday too!

Today. . . .  I must, I must, I must get to work on class projects.  I've been procrastinating all week and now I have class on Tuesday and nothing done.  Good thing I work well under pressure - well, most of the time anyway!

I got a little bit of the yard cleaned up yesterday....this morning I hope to work up the ambition to put fertilizer on the lawn.  Then I really must get started on class projects...at the least I need to get the projects done for next week's class :)

I decided the other day that I needed to become more self-sufficient - so....I bought a drill.  Now that is a biggie for me because I have never used one before.  LOL!  But I get frustrated waiting when I want something done.....anyway, I figured the thing out, drilled some holes and put up a shelf in my closet yesterday.  Woo hoo!  Who knows how long it will last, or even if I did it right, but I did it!  (there's nothing breakable on it so if it falls off the wall it won't hurt anything!)  Now I can get the warm weather clothes unpacked and in my closet and then we'll hope it gets warm enough to wear them :)

The card - the background strip was stamped by inking up a clear block and stamping it on the card.  I got it a tad darker than I wanted because the script stamp I used over the top didn't show up like I wanted.  The flower and sentiment were stamped in black.

Oh my, I'm still kind of speechless from last night - the bbq at Jeff's house was actually a reason to surprise me with a visit from my daughter Tracy (who lives in Ohio).  What fun!  She's only here for a very short time - she will be leaving in the morning, but I plan to enjoy every moment!

The card - stamped images (except for sentiment) are from SU.  I stamped the background grid directly on the panel, the striped piece is stamped on a  piece of white, cut out and attached on top of the grid.  Chevrons are punched out and added on top of striped piece.  Added some extra splotches, some bling and a sentiment.  Colors are kraft, cantaloupe, white and black.

Time for a trip to the grocery store and hopefully I can get some laundry done this afternoon.  No Friday night crafting this week - Jeff and Sara are having a bbq and I'm looking forward to a fun evening with friends!

The card - the strip was made by punching out patterned paper with SU's triangle punch.  I attached the triangles to a piece of white, then adhered that strip to a piece of pool party.  The embossing folder I used at the bottom is from SU.

No plan for today....oh oh....that doesn't always work out so well.  I'm sure there's plenty of things I should be doing so hopefully I will get motivated here soon.  I do have to get the stamp room cleaned up since we have Stamp Club with Deb tonight.  It might take me all day just to do that :)

Project Sunday - just finished the stitching on this one on Friday night.  It's a wall hanging and still needs the backing and stitched around the edge, but the main part is done. 

It's raining....it's pouring....and the wind is blowing.  Ick!  Hope it calms down a bit before I need to meet Deb for breakfast....and then we'll be going to Black Sheep Sunday - a whole day of stitching - yay!

Project Sunday - this is a small table runner I finished a while back.

I didn't get as much card-making done yesterday as I had planned on....Jeff came over to help clean up the yard and so I ended up spending most of the day working in the yard.  I was pretty stiff and sore last night, but it felt good to be working outside for a change - the weather was perfect and now the front yard is free of weeds and leaves and looks ever so much better.  (and I am so relieved that since I've moved I don't have a hundred rose bushes to trim and an acre of weeds to deal with!!!)    I'm hoping to get some work done on the class stuff this morning and then I have a friend coming this afternoon that wants to do some wool applique so I am going to see if I can help her get started with that.

What a great day we had yesterday - a nice drive, great lunch and some fun shopping!  Now it's back to work - I need to get cards done for class next week so that's my goal for the day.
