The start of winter break at school - so lots of 'Grandma time' for the next two weeks.  Today it's both boys.  I'm hoping it will be as nice outside this afternoon as it was yesterday so we can go down to Main Street and wander around.  I need some fresh air - I tend to hibernate in the winter because I don't like the cold!

Today's adventure - getting my second cataract surgery first thing this morning.  (right eye this time).  So excited to have this done and be able to see well out of both eyes!

LOL - I thought yesterday was Friday.  Go figure!  Didn't dawn on me til later in the day that it was actually Saturday.  Oh well, didn't really make any difference and now I think I'm on the right day.   It's going to be a quiet day - no kids, no company, just me and the laundry!  I'm even pretty caught up on most of the  Christmas stuff - just a couple of little things to pick up next week.  Yay!

My son-in-law is visiting from Washington for a couple of days.  He's staying with Jeff, because he's here mostly to see the boys.  But I'm doing dinner the next two nights, so I'm off to start cooking.  (and I need to clean up the rest of my mess from my candy making yesterday!)

Oh my, no errands to run today, no kids, no commitments - whatever shall I do?  I do have a list - finish up a couple of Christmas gifts, make more peanut brittle, do some laundry and maybe even take a nap.  That should all fill up my day quite nicely I think :)

A bit of 'Grandma time' with Ethan today while Hudson goes to get his second vaccine shot!  Then it's time to figure out the menu for my party on Tuesday and make a trip to the grocery store!  That's my biggest goal for the day!

he card - a different look with the same dies as yesterday.  I embossed the red  background piece with just some simple dots.  Then I embossed the white piece and then die cut it out.  I added some red speckles and a sentiment in the center and some gold twine..  So easy!

First Christmas party tonight.  So excited.  We had to cancel this party last year and it was the first time in at least 30 years that we hadn't met for Christmas.  We don't always see each other as much during the year, but we always  get to gether at Christmas.  So glad we're able to get together this year!  Yay!  So, I've got a bit of cleaning up to do, a bit of food to make and a present to wrap.

Oh my, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed.  For some reason there is just an awful lot going on and so many things to get done.  I really, really need to get myself organized.    I never, ever put up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving but.......there's so much that I need to get done and Hudson is here all week and Ethan will be here Wednesday and Friday......Hudson and I put up the Christmas tree yesterday!  Whew - one job out of the way!   My only saving grace is that we aren't doing Thanksgiving here - thank goodness!  And it will only bother me for two more days hahaha!   Today Hudson and I may be able to get a little more decorating done!  And clean up the classroom for class tonight :)   (that's an important one!)

Yesterday was great fun!  (and I did do a bit of buying, even though I had no intention of doing so!:)   But it was an afternoon of laughter and eating and shopping - just a wonderful feel good day!   Today, I really must finish up the closet stuff - I got interrupted and now have boxes of shoes all over the bedroom and clothes all over the utility room.  That's today's project - or at least one of them - I'd really like to get some yard work done too!  (feeling rather ambitious - hahahha!)
