Well, yesterday didn't turn out quite as expected!  My washing machine died....had to go buy a new one, they can't deliver it til Friday, so ended up spending some time at the Laundromat.  Oh my, haven't been in one of those in over 40 years.  It was pretty quick and painless though.  Just not how I had planned on spending my day!  Today, I'm off to get groceries and birthday stuff for Ethan's birthday on Saturday!  Can't believe it's been a year!  How time flies.....

Looking forward to a 'Grandma day' with both boys.   Ethan's Covid test came back negative, thank goodness.  Think a little bit of fresh air will be good, so we're going downtown this morning for breakfast and to check out the car show on Main Street.

The card - Patterned paper and die cut leaves - so easy!  I stamped a bit of grunge in the background on the small panel.  Added the die cut leaves, a sentiment and some ribbon. 

My 'normal' schedule kind of bit the dust already this week!  Ethan is under the weather so they didn't want to send him to day care.  Took him for a Covid test yesterday, now we'll just be waiting for the results.  But I will have some extra 'Grandma time' this week and that's ok with me!

The card - background is a strip of white with a die cut border added to the top and bottom.  The leaves are stamped directly on the background piece.  To get the mix of color on the leaves, I inked the stamp with yellow (Bumblebee) and then used a dauber to add a bit of rust (Cajun) here and there to the inked stamp before stamping.  

Some odds and ends of chores today and a couple of errands.  That's about it!

The card - background is embossed although it didn't show up well in the photo.  I used SU's new Timeworn Type which is one of my new favorites!  The two green leaves are stamped, then die cut.  The other two are  just die cut from solid card stock.  The sentiment is stamped on a die cut tag and tucked under the leaves.  

Can you believe it's the first of September?  I feel like I lost most of the summer!  I am looking forward to the beauty of the fall season in Colorado though!    

Nothing exciting today - have an eye Dr's appointment this morning.  Not sure what I'll be able to do the rest of the day - last time it took a long time for my eyes to get back to normal after he dilated them - yuk!  So, we'll see.  I think we're supposed to get rain today, so a good day to stay inside!

Photo Sunday - my haul at the Farmer's Market yesterday.  Palisade peaches are the very best and watermelon and cantaloupe from Green River, Utah are my favorites!  Now I just need to pick up some Olathe Sweet Corn and some local tomatoes!  I love fresh summer fruit and vegetables!

No big plans for today except a trip to the grocery store.  I am thinking I might be starting a new project, just have to decide if I am in the mood for that.  It might be a book and nap day!!!

On another note:  if you follow my blog by email you may have received a notice from 'Follow It' asking if you want to continue to receive the emails.  This is legit.  Blogger discontinued use of the old subscriber and I've changed to 'Follow It'.  It's been a bit confusing to say the least and I haven't quite figured it all out yet.  (leave it to me to wait til the last minute)  Hopefully you are still receiving the emails as before with no problem.  Getting it under control is on my 'list' of things to do!!!  

So, now I'm off to start on my list of things to get done!  It's pouring rain at the moment and I think it's supposed to last all day - that may keep me from running errands, but there's plenty to do here anyway!  I'm just so glad for the rain!  We need it so bad.

I-70, which of course is closed and has been for several days.  They have no idea when they will be able to open it again.  Because it is the main route from the western slope to the eastern slope of Colorado it is causing a multitude of issues.    

'Grandma time' today.  A fun overnighter last night - dinner out with friends at our favorite local hamburger place and then Hudson and I watched most of the Disney movie Luca.  No big plans for today - the smoke from the California fires is pretty bad here so it's better to be inside than out.
