I love these new flourish stamps I got from Papertrey. (as if I didn't have enough flourish stamps:) This card is really simple - I just stamped the flourish in celery, added some flowers (prima) and a sentiment (Papertrey)

Today - I really need to get some yard work done, but I have class projects that need to be done by Tuesday so.......... I think I will try to get the class projects done today and I can put off the yard work til next week. What a plan!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Friday, June 5, 2009

The card - stamp is from Echoes of Kindess (SU). Colors are celery, pink pirouette, black and white. I used Pretty in Pink to color the flower.

Today - need to clean up my stamp room this morning. Deb is coming to play this afternoon and Emily and Sherry are joining us this evening. It will be a good day! Hopefully I will get lots done.

Have a great day!

Thursday, June 4, 2009

I used a combination of stamps on this card - Sense of Time (clock & saying) and God's Beauty (butterfly) - both SU. Card is vanilla, images are stamped on Kraft and mat is chocolate. Clock pieces are stamped with sahara sand, butterfly and saying are stamped with chocolate.

Back to work today on class stuff. Class tonight.

Enjoy your day.

Stamp set - God's Beauty (SU) My friend Judy S loaned me this set to play with. I love the butterfly in this set. For this card I stamped the images in black and then colored them with a blender pen. (leaves are celery, butterfly is regal rose) The butterfly is cut out and popped up.
I had planned on doing some yard work today, but after the rain last night it is a bit wet out there. So, I guess I'll work on getting cards done for classes next week.
Have a great day!

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Here's one more card done with the Big Birthday Candle set. (it's on SU's retiring list, so if you think you might want this set it will only be available til the end of the month) I used the birthday embossing folder for the background. Colors are Bashful Blue and celery.

More class stuff today - have to get kits ready for tomorrow night's class.

Enjoy your day.

Monday, June 1, 2009

Here is a card that I did when I was playing around with 'inchies'. I sponged a little blue and green on white paper, stamped some random images with black and punched them out with a 1" punch. Attached them to a white piece leaving a tiny border around each one, then added a black mat and attached that to the card front. Pretty easy.

I didn't get my class kits done yesterday, so that will have to be my priority today since I have class tonight.

Have a wonderful day!

Sunday, May 31, 2009

Simple, but rather pretty. Butterfly is from SU's Great Friend set. Pattern paper is from Walk in the Park (SU). Colors are baja and basic grey.

Today - going to dinner this afternoon at my cousin Betty's - yum! Need to get the lawn and flowers watered this morning - then maybe get started on putting the kits together for this coming week's classes.

Have a wonderful day!

Saturday, May 30, 2009

Here's another card with the Big Birthday candle set from SU. Patterned paper is Delicate Dots from SU. Card base is saffron.

I think I am going to spend the entire day stamping today. It's been two weeks since I've had a day to stamp and I received some new stamps from Papertrey while I was gone so.............. it's going to be a play day for me!

Enjoy your weekend.

Friday, May 29, 2009

Stamp set is Echoes of Kindness (SU) Colors are pink pirouette and black.

Today - not sure! I'm having a hard time getting back into a groove. The last two days have gone by without much getting accomplished. I think I'll try to work on class projects - I do have projects that need to be done for classes next week.

Enjoy your day!

Just a few pictures from my trip to the mid-west. I didn't really get any awe inspiring scenic pictures on this trip, but I have plenty of just ordinary pictures to do scrapbook pages with. Our first sight seeing stop was in St Louis, where we stopped to see the Gateway Arch.
Gateway Arch in St Louis, Missouri We rode to the top of this in a tiny little 'pod" on the inside of the arch. At the very top (630 ft) there were windows with some awesome views of the St Louis area. This is a view of St Louis taken from the top of the arch.

This is from the Indy 500. It was really hard to get good pictures of cars whizzing by at over 200 mph. I think this picture was when they were running under a yellow flag so they were going just a bit slower. We were sitting on the straight away just after the 4th corner and before the start/finish line. It turned out to be a great place because 6 out of the 8 wrecks happened in our viewing area.

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

I'm back! Wow - what a trip. It went by too fast, as vacation always seems to do. The Indy 500 was totally awesome! I will have some pictures to share in the next day or so.

Today's card is an easy one. Stamp is from Penny Black. Colors are Baja and chocolate.

Today is my day to get myself back in the 'real life' groove. Unpack, laundry, trip to the grocery store.

Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

A Sense of Time (from SU mini catalog) Stamped the clock on printed paper and cut it out. The clock works are stamped with baja on baja paper.

Flying home later this afternoon. Darn - I already know I am not ready for vacation to end.

Enjoy your day!

Monday, May 25, 2009

Today - we should be arriving in Richmond, Indiana today. Tracy has a soccer game tonight so I hope we will be able to attend that! Haven't seen her play in a soccer game since she was in college so it will be fun!

Have a wonderful day!

Thursday, May 21, 2009

More of my favorite paper - Parisian Breeze. Stamp is from Echoes of Kindness (SU). Card is kraft with baja accents.

Today - seeing new country today. Eastern Kansas has got to be better than the western part - so here's hoping for some new photo opportunities today.

Enjoy your day!

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

A fun card! This is a SU set - Big Birthday Candle. My friend Judy S was kind enough to loan me this set to play with. I used the outline part of the set and stamped on printed paper (Sweet Slumber) and then cut the candle out. Added some glitter to the flames. (hint - don't use glitter under a fan!)

We're off this morning to Indiana. We are taking my Mom's car to my daughter Tracy. Then we will be flying home. I am looking forward to this trip - I haven't driven any further east than McPherson, KS, so we will be seeing some new country.

Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

I just got my order from our Stamp Club so had to play with this new set - Sense of Time (SU). I think this one is going to be a lot of fun. The minute part of the clock is cut out, sponged on the edge and popped up. Used a grommet on the right hand side, punched a hole in the center and tied some string through that. Added some brads and there you have it. The Celebrate is from Celebrate Everything (SU) Colors are Kraft and chocolate.
Today - laundry and packing! We're leaving bright and early in the morning. I will schedule posts for the days I am gone, so you will have something new to see each day while I am gone.
Have a great day!

Monday, May 18, 2009

Love the colors in this Walk in the Park paper from SU. I used cameo coral, basic grey and baja for this card. Butterfly is from SU's Great Friend set.

More yard work today - hopefully I will be able to finish it this morning. Have a lot to get done today and tomorrow - we leave on Wednesday, so I'm getting down to the wire. Class tonight.

Happy stampin'

Sunday, May 17, 2009

This is a card Roni did at stamp club last week. I did one a while ago like this, but I loved the color Roni used on this one. (baja) The Manhattan Flower embossing folder from SU was used on vellum.

Whew - I am finally finished with the rose bushes! Oh yea! I still have some bushes to trim and some weeds to get rid of, but it is such a relief to have all those rose bushes done! I am taking a break from 'hard labor' today - Deb is going to come stamp for a bit and I am going to enjoy some play time.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Saturday, May 16, 2009

It's pink! Yep, a little out of my usual color zone, but what the heck, it's pretty! Stamp is SU's pocket silhouettes, butterfly punch is Martha Stewart, scalloped rectangle is nestabilities, patterned paper is SU. Colors are Pretty in Pink and Pirouette Pink.

More yard work today. Oh boy!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Friday, May 15, 2009

Used some inchies for this card I gave to Jeff for his birthday. Paper is from SU (thanks Sherry!).

Happy stampin'

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Found a couple of new stamps when I was at Hobby Lobby last week - this is one of them. It's called Waving Wheat and is from Stampabilities. Printed paper is from SU (Parisian Breeze) and I used one of SU's new jumbo grommets. Happy Birthday is from Hero Arts.
Tomorrow is my son Jeff's birthday, but since he is going to be out of town we're doing dinner tonight. So.......today is a cooking and cleaning day.
Have a wonderful day.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

No stamping! Thought this was kind of fun and could be done with a variety of colors and paper. The flower is a die cut from Sizzix (Flower Layers). I sponged the edge of each flower, curled the edges up a bit and layered them. Fun and easy. Colors are celery, saffron and bashful blue.

Back to the yard work today. More rose bushes to trim. Class tonight.

Have a great day!

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Have a great weekend!

Friday, May 8, 2009

Pocket Silhouettes (SU) - Going grey, basic grey and regal rose. Pretty simple, but I liked these colors together.

Got all my flowers planted yesterday - whew! Took longer than I thought - I think the older I get, the slower I get! Now it's time to start trimming the rose bushes (past time, actually), so I will get started on that this morning.

Have a wonderful day!

Thursday, May 7, 2009

White on white with a touch of color. Stamp is from SU, Cuttlebug butterfly.

Planting flowers today - the day got away from me yesterday and I didn't get to the planting part. Looking foward to Stamp Club with Roni tonight!

Happy stampin'

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

I dug out a very old SU set for this card - Touch of Nature. The images are all stamped in black and colored with Baja. The background image is stamped with baja on baja paper. Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, embossed with white.

Working on class projects today. My goal is to get the rest of my projects done so I can start on yard work tomorrow.

Happy stampin'

Super simple - stamps are from Papertrey Ink - colors are rust and vanilla.

Have a couple of things to finish up this morning, then Deb is coming to stamp this afternoon. Yea! It will be a good day!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Saturday, May 2, 2009

One of SU's new sets in the mini catalog (Soft Summer). This is a two-step stamp - I stamped the outline stamp and colored it with a blending pen, then stamped the solid image with eggplant and cut the flowers out and popped them up. Colors are Old Olive and Eggplant.
Working on class projects today.
Happy stampin'

Friday, May 1, 2009

A touch of spring today. SU's Great Friend set (from the new mini ctalog). Colors are bashful blue and celery. Printed paper is SU's Delicate Dots.

Back to the yard work today - events conspired against me yesterday (totally not my fault) and I didn't get the weeds sprayed. So.......today it is a must because they are predicting rain for the next several days.

Play time tonight though, so I have something fun to look forward to!

Enjoy your day.

Thursday, April 30, 2009

One more inchie card. I didn't use actual inchie stamps for this one. I started with a white piece of cardstock - sponged some baja and copper on it - stamped some random seashell images over that with baja and copper - used a small background stamp with writing here and there - punched 1" squares from different sections - sponged the edges of each square with baja and then put it all together and added some copper embellishments. These are really fun to do, I'll be playing with these inchies some more!

Yesterday was great fun and a much needed break. Now today it's back to work - really have to get in the yard and deal with some weeds. I haven't even started trimming the rose bushes yet and they should have been done by now. Oh well, they aren't going anywhere, I'll get to them eventually.

Have a great day!

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Another inchie card. This card was done the same way as the one I posted yesterday. Images are from Inkadinkado, stamped with black on shades of red, sponged on the edges with brown. Just a bit of a different layout.

A fun day today (I really need one!) Judy S and I are going to Delta for lunch and shopping. Yea - I'm really feeling the need for a day away.

Happy stampin'

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Playing with inchies. (1" squares) Judy, Alison and I stamped a bunch of these images from Inkadinkado one night. Then I needed to figure out what the heck to do with them. This is my first attempt at an inchie card. Each image was stamped in black on different shades of blue, and punched with a 1" square punch. Then each square was sponged with dark brown. I embellished a few of the squares with brads, etc and then just matted them on a black piece of paper and added that to a blue card.

Have chores to get done today and class tonight.

Have a wonderful day.

Monday, April 27, 2009

Went back and dug out this Upsy Daisy (SU) set to play with - hadn't used it in quite a while and it was fun to try and do some new things with it. Colors are kiwi and chocolate.

I'm so glad it finally rained last night. But it's probably too wet to do yard work today (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!) so I think I'll try to work on some class projects for next week.

Enjoy your day.

Sunday, April 26, 2009

Photo day - haven't posted a photo for a long time. This was a picture I took at sunset one day last week.

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend.

Saturday, April 25, 2009

A new SU set - Soft Summer. I used the outline part of this set and colored it with a blender pen. I stamped it a second time and cut out the flowers, added a brad and popped them up. Colors are chocolate, vanilla, riding hood red and white.

No real plans for today. It's supposed to rain so that gives me an excuse for not doing yard work. Didn't really want to anyway. Guess I will spend the day stamping - and maybe I can get started on some class projects.

Have a great weekend.

Friday, April 24, 2009

Quick & easy today. Cuttlebug embossing folder with a couple of stamped butterflies and a sentiment (Papertrey Ink) Colors are baja and blue bajou.

Today -who knows. I am looking forward to play time tonight though. It will certainly be the bright spot in my week.

Enjoy your day!

Thursday, April 23, 2009

Verve stamps - prima flower - SU patterned paper - swirl die cut (sizzix) - scalloped rectangle from nestabilities. Colors are basic grey, kiwi and not quite navy.

Oh what beautiful weather we are having! It's supposed to be in the 80's today. It really is time for me to get out and get some yard work done. Maybe today.

Have a great day!

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

Verve stamps - SU paper - Martha Stewart butterfly punch. Scalloped rectangel is nestabilities. Colors are baja and kraft.

Linda is coming to make up a class this morning - then I'll see if I can talk myself into going out and getting started on the yard work........or maybe I'll put it off til tomorrow. We'll see.

Happy stampin'

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

More pink - I ended up doing several cards with these colors (rose romance & sage) since I had them out on my table. Flower stamps are from Gelatins - birthday is from Papertrey Ink. Butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.

We're celebrating my friend Molly's birthday tonight, so I'm cooking today. It will be a fun evening.

This is an old Penny Black stamp that I played with the other day. Need to dig through my drawers of stamps more often - never know what I'm going to find! Colors are rose romance and sage shadow. Cuttlebug swiss dots on the left, then used the Scor-pal to make the lines in the middle. Happy Birthday is CTMH.

Have a long list of things to get done today and then class tonight.

Have a great day!
