A little bit of summer - I'm really trying to get out of my "color rut". I seem to end up using the same colors all the time, so tried for something a little different with this card.

Not sure what I'm doing today - have lots to do, just not sure where to start. I do have to prepare for class tonight so I guess that will be my first priority.

Have a wonderful day!

Here's another card with this new SU stamp. I ordered this stamp at club and I'm looking forward to playing with it some more when the order comes.

Still haven't gotten my yard work done - I was such a slacker yesterday - just never got motivated enough to do much of anything. Now I'm thinking it will wait til tomorrow. I think Deb is coming over this afternoon so I will get some more stampin time. (way more fun than yard work!)

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Saturday, August 16, 2008

Another pretty simple card. Just liked the layout and the colors.
I had a very productive day yesterday - got two class projects done and then Deb came over and I got a few more cards done. Yea! I love days like that.
Must explain a little about my house guests - don't want you to think I'm just ignoring them. They are not here visiting me - they are parents of our friends Scott and Shelley. So they are here to see them and spend time with the grandkids. I am just supplying a bed to sleep in.
Yard work today. Those weeds just will not stay away.
Hope your weekend is off to a great start.

Good morning! I was a little confused this morning - when I woke up the clock said it was only 3:30 am - thought it was strange that it was getting light outside. Discovered that the electricity had gone off during the night and it was acutally almost 6:00. So, no excuse for going back to bed.
I really liked this card when I saw it so had to make one. Groovy Guava and Sahara sand - and the white parts are embossed.
The house is clean, the laundry is done - oh my - what to do now. Gosh, I guess I can spend the day stamping/scrapbooking. Deb is coming over today so hopefully I will have another productive day.
Enjoy your day!

Thursday, August 14, 2008

Finally - a scrapbook page! This is one I did last week when Bretina and Ginger came to scrap.

More cleaning today. (only got the basement done yesterday - today I will tackle the upstairs) My house guests should be arriving sometime later this afternoon.

Have a wonderful day!

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

This is one of the cards I did Sunday during our stamping marathon. Deb let me borrow this new stamp from SU - I love it! The grass is stamped on the background, then I embossed the flower with white. I'm really liking these silhouette stamps.

I am not feeling terribly ambitious today which is not good. I have a class tonight that I need to prepare for and I have to get my house cleaned because I have some guests coming tomorrow. So, I guess I better get started. Ugh!

A quick and easy birthday card.

Yesterday turned into one of "those" Monday's and I didn't get done what I should have. Will have to play catch-up today.

The best part of the day was stamp club with Deb last night - great cards as usual - thanks Deb! I will have lots of new goodies to play with - I got a little carried away with my order.

I am off to get ready for class this morning (preparation was one of the things I didn't get done yesterday)

Happy stampin'

Monday, August 11, 2008

An easy card today, but a nice layout that can be used with a lot of different colors and stamps.

It's a little cooler outside this morning - hope it stays that way for a while since I have yard work to do today.

Deb came over yesterday and we spent the entire afternoon and evening stamping. What fun! It was a very productive day for both of us and now I have projects to post all week. Yea!

Have a wonderful day!

Sunday, August 10, 2008

Photo Day! I took this photo on Main Street when Judy and I were down there taking pictures of the art. (the flower pictures actually came out better than the "art")

I slept in this morning - Bretina kept me up way past my bedtime last night - but I had a great time and finished 2 layouts that I was pleased with! Yea!

Today I need to get class kits ready for classes that start this week. Not exciting, but a necessity.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Saturday, August 9, 2008

Wasn't that rain last night something? And the hail - I was flabergasted when that started - hail in August? Pretty strange.
A different one of the little embossing folders - the flower - isn't it cute?
Bretina and Ginger are coming to play tonight and I plan on getting some scrapping done!
Have a great weekend!

Friday, August 8, 2008

This is one of the layouts we did in Scrap Class last month. I still need to find pictures (or take some) for the other one.

Farmer's Market was fun last night - I especially enjoyed the Toffee Lover's icecream from Enstrom's!!!!

Need to get some stuff cleaned up and organized today - getting together with Deb, Sherry, Emily and Roni to play tonight. Yea!

Happy scrappin'

Thursday, August 7, 2008

Simple black & white card today. Swiss dots embossing and Penny Black "flying stars" stamp.

Dare I say I had another birthday dinner last night? Kim took me to dinner at Texas Roadhouse - one of my favorite places but one I don't get to often. We've had trouble with our schedules meshing and it was so great to catch up! And she made me the cutest stationery box - Thank you Kim!!! It was awesome. OK - that's it for the birthday stuff - I think it's over now. Dang, turning old isn't so bad when you have such wonderful friends!

A birthday lunch today (NOT for me this time!) We're taking Bretina to lunch for her birthday. Then Judy and I are going to Farmer's Market downtown tonight. A full day - but fun!

Happy Stampin'

Wednesday, August 6, 2008

This is one of the cards I did the other day when Judy was here. It took me forever because I was having a hard time getting the "enjoy" to stamp solid - just wasn't my day I guess.
The rain made the air smell so fresh this morning. I had planned on doing some yard work, but it's just a little too wet outside - oh darn! So, guess I will spend the day getting class projects done for classes that start next week.

I'm a little late posting this morning - I got sidetracked looking at some new pictures that Tracy had posted of her adventures at Yosemite. There was a video of her running off of a mountain and swinging on this rope - kind of scary for a mother to watch. But, man, it looked like fun!

Simple card today - another one with kraft and soft sky.

After working in the yard for about 6 hours yesterday I'm taking a break from yard work today except for doing some watering. Think I may spend some time in the stamp room - after I clean up the mess I made the other day!

Have a great day!

Monday, August 4, 2008

Green flowers? I know, you're surprised huh? My friends know that I rank green flowers right up there with red and green snowflakes. But.....the card is pretty. I was copying, as usual, and just didn't bother to change the colors. I thought the green and black was rather striking. So........I may have to try this again with some other colors. The image was stamped in green and then I used a black pen to go over the stem lines.

Off to do yard work this morning, clean up the class area this afternoon and then class tonight. Busy day.

Enjoy your day!

Sunday, August 3, 2008

A simple (only 2 layers) card today. Love that new Penny Black stamp but I need to figure out some more layouts to use it with. After yesterday's multi-layer card I thought I'd tone it down a bit today!

I will be spending the day working on class stuff - still have to finish the projects for tomorrow night's class.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Saturday, August 2, 2008

Playing with the nestabilities on this card. (the scalloped rectangle)

Had a great time playing with Judy S yesterday. She actually got more done than I did - took me all afternoon to make 2 cards - yikes! But last night I did get one layout finished for class on Monday, so now I just have to do one more. (that's on today's list of things to do)

Hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start!

Happy stampin'

Friday, August 1, 2008

More Martha Stewart flowers - more swiss dots - and the score lines were made with the score-pal. A simple and easy card.

Plan to get a little more yard work done this morning. Then Judy S is coming over this afternoon to stamp. Not sure what I'm going to work on, but whatever it is it will be a fun afternoon.

Happy stampin'

Thursday, July 31, 2008

More Kraft and Soft Sky - and another card where I used the score-pal. I scored it after I stamped it, but think it looks more like faux tile if you stamp after you score. (not sure why the lines going the other direction don't show up)

Judy D and I had a fun evening last night. We went downtown to The Rockslide for dinner and then walked up and down Main Street trying to take pictures of all the Art on the Corner. Discovered that it is hard to get good pictures of the art - too many cars and buildings in the background. We'll see how the pictures turn out - hopefully I will have enough to do a scrapbook layout.

I have really slacked off on yard work the past couple of weeks so I think I better get some done today. We were talking about having Chronic Fatigue yesterday, but I think my problem is just Chronic Laziness these days. Must be the heat - need something to blame my lack of ambition on!

Have a wonderful day!

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

Kind of fallish looking, but good for a guy card. I was playing with some new goodies - the criss cross lines on the background was done with the "score-pal". I had seen this used a lot on different web sites, decided I liked the look, so I ordered one. Fun and easy to do - it makes scoring lines at even intervals really easy.

Have a lot to get done today (and the rest of the week) but I'm not sure where to start. Guess I'll start with taking the dog for a walk and then move on from there.

Enjoy your day!

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Kraft and Soft Sky - don't ya love these colors together? Lots of layers on this card, but I loved the way it came out (copied, of course from the web)
Kevin & Valerie took me to dinner last night - I know, another birthday dinner - what can I say? We went to Johnny Carino's - haven't been there in a very long time - it was soooo good! Thank you Kevin & Valerie!!!
To all my SU Demonstrator buddies who are leaving for convention tomorrow - have a safe trip and a wonderful time (well, duh, of course you will!)

Monday, July 28, 2008

Good morning! Well, I had a very productive day yesterday. I really did spend the entire day in my stamping room. Got enough cards done to post all week! Yea!

This card is done with a stamp that I had seen used on some websites and when I saw it at Hobby Lobby it just sort of landed in my hands - like magic, huh? It's a Penny Black stamp and I just thought it was fun and different.

I had originally planned on doing yard work today but it's pretty wet out there from the rain last night. Wasn't that lightening something? So.... I may use the day to try and get some class stuff done. I guess the yard work can wait.

Happy stampin'

Sunday, July 27, 2008

A simple black & white card. Yep, I'm playing with the embossing folders again too! The stamp is one I picked up when I was in Fort Collins from a company called gel-a-tins.
I am planning on spending the day in my stamp room making cards or working on class projects - whichever strikes my fancy I guess.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Good morning. I finally got a few new cards done the other day so I'd have something to post. This blogging thing does help with the motivation to get things done!

For this card I copied a layout that Molly used at our Shoebox club last week. Thanks Molly! Believe it or not those cute little flowers are Martha Stewart - can't say I'm usually a fan of her stuff, but those flowers just jumped off the display at Michael's and into my hands the other day! I've used them on a couple of cards already.

Today I'm off to Gunnison for my cousin's 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. Should be fun - and a lot cooler there than here.

Have a fun weekend!

Friday, July 25, 2008

This is another version of a card I posted a while back. Fun and easy to do, a good way to use up scraps of paper and can be used for most any occasion.

I have had a pretty unproductive week - just have not been able to focus so have not accomplished much of anything. I'm cooking dinner tonight - oh my - another homecooked meal. I made home made noodles last night and today I am going to make a cake - from scratch no less - no boxed mix. We'll see how that comes out!

Thursday, July 24, 2008

Loved the rain last night! I sat outside for a bit just to watch it pouring down on the patio. Not only did the air smell so fresh and clean but it meant I didn't have to worry about watering the lawn today! Yea!

This is another card I did with an old stamp set last week. I need to dig out some more of those old, unused sets. It is fun to use them in a new way.

I have a pretty clear day today so I'm headed off to the grocery store and then back home to try and get some work done on some class projects.

Enjoy your day!

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

This page didn't quite work out like I had originally planned, but it's more pictures that are scrapped so I am going to be satisfied with that.

I have to go to Jeff's this afternoon and hang around waiting for the cable guy to show up. Maybe I will get lucky and he will show up at the beginning of the time frame? Nah, probably not.

Happy scrappin'

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Photo Day! This is a picture I took from the yard last week when we had so much smoke in the air from the California fires. The odd thing was in real life that sun was a bright red - I took several pictures but the color kept coming out this way. Go figure. I liked the picture anyway, and I'm running out of projects to share - guess that means I need to get busy!

Ok, I'm going to get busy and try to focus today. We'll see how that goes - it certainly wasn't working yesterday!

Note: Check out Molly's new blog - there's a link over on the right side. Great job Molly!

Have a wonderful day!

Monday, July 21, 2008

More circles. Just thought this card was kind of fun and different. (copied, of course, from the web)

I had a very lazy weekend so now I need to get a good start on this new week. Well, it sounds like a good plan anyway! I do need to get kits ready for class tonight so I'm off to get that done.

Happy stampin'

Sunday, July 20, 2008

This is a card I made to match the Card Organizer that I posted yesterday. I love the "Life is good" stamp! (I copied the layout from Deb!)

Had a wonderful home cooked meal at Molly's last night! Thanks Molly - it was yummy! Then I helped her with my limited knowledge of blogging to get her started with her own blog. So watch for a new link to Molly's blog soon!

Another day with no plan - oh oh. I may go out and do a bit of yard work - or not! I may stamp or scrapbook - that's more of a possibility! I did get a box from UPS the other night with some new stamps, so I may just have to see what I can do with them today.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Saturday, July 19, 2008

These are pictures of a Card Organizer I made last week for a gift for a Secret Stamper. Fun and easy to do - I hope she likes it!
The family BBQ last night was great fun! My cousin Betty puts on the most amazing spreads when she cooks. I ate WAY too much, but it was oh so yummy! And it's always fun to see cousins that I don't see very often.
No plan for today - and that's probably not good. I don't seem to accomplish much when I don't have a "plan". I guess I'll just go with the flow today and see where it leads.
Hope you are having a fun weekend!

Friday, July 18, 2008

Using another old stamp - this is actually the same set I used on the beach scrapbook page.

Had a wonderful birthday lunch yesterday at Famous Dave's. Yummy! Thank you Bretina, Lauren and Ginger!

Tonight a family BBQ with some visiting out of town relatives. Should be fun!

Happy stampin'

A very simple layout I did with some of the pictures from the Iris Farm. I had a ton of pictures but I was determined to keep it to a 2-page spread.

My plans for today have been a bit altered because of the weather. Not complaining though - it is cool, crisp and fresh outside this morning - a pleasant change from the hot, dry and smoky air. I have a lunch date today which will be fun (ok - it's another birthday thing!) Then I think I will work on getting my photos from Yosemite sorted and labeled. That's going to be a major job with around 700 photos! But then I can start scrapping them!!!!

Have a wonderful day.

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

I have no idea if there will be a picture with this post. It's only showing up as a box with a red x - so............ If there is a picture it will be a card I did last week. Just liked the paper and the simple layout.

Off to get a haircut this morning and then back home to try and get my house cleaned up a bit. After spending most of the day yesterday doing paper work - (it's all done, yea!) doing a little physical house cleaning will be a good thing!

Happy stampin'

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

This is a card I copied from the web. I just thought it was fun and funky and I loved the colors.

Today is going to be a paper work day. I'd rather be doing yard work - and that should tell you just how much I love doing paper work. But I'm going to bite the bullet and get it over with so I can move on to more fun and exciting things.

Happy Stampin'

Monday, July 14, 2008

Another beach layout. Did you notice I stamped on this layout? Not sure why I don't use my stamps more often on layouts but it's not something I do very often. It's hard to see, but there are sea shells stamped on the background of the journaling block too.

Today is Jeff's first day at his new job, so I told him I'd cook dinner if he wanted to stop by on his way home tonight. Me? Cook? Now where did that come from? It's not a holiday, so I'm not sure if I know how to cook a regular meal anymore. That means a trip to the grocery store today.

Have a great day.

Sunday, July 13, 2008

A simple card - takes me back to the good old days! I find myself getting frustrated trying to come up with new layouts all the time and forgetting that some of the simple ones we've used for ages work just fine too!

Molly is coming over this afternoon to catch up on some missed class projects and I'm hoping to be motivated to do some scrapping while she is here. So, I'm off to get some house and yard stuff done this morning so I can scrap this afternoon.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Saturday, July 12, 2008

I dug out some very old stamp sets yesterday to play with and this was one of the cards I did. I love those 2-step stamping sets.
So, I made cards in the morning, watered the lawn, did laundry and then got to play last night with Deb, Emily and Sherry. It was another of those nights when I worked hard at scrapbooking but only got 1 layout done - and a very simple one at that. But, oh well, it was a great evening anyway.
Enjoy your weekend!

Friday, July 11, 2008

Here is another card I copied from Sherry. Simple, but pretty.

I spent most of yesterday at Jeff's cleaning the kitchen and dining room. That involved LOTS of scrubbing! But it's done, and now I think his house is cleaner than mine. I almost had the urge to come home and empty the rooms in my house and clean them - but that urge passed pretty quickly!

I have rather neglected things here this week so today I will try to get a few things caught up around the yard and in the house. I'm looking forward to an evening of "play time" with Sherry and Deb tonight!

Have a wonderful day!

Thursday, July 10, 2008

Another layout. This is one we did in Scrap Class last month and I finally got pictures added to it.

Another day of cleaning at Jeff's today. Going to tackle the kitchen. We got the whole yard cleaned up yesterday - it looks ever so much better than it has for several years - and it only took one day worth of work!

Happy scrappin' !

Wednesday, July 9, 2008

This is one of the layouts I did when I was at Emily's on Saturday. I took a ton of sunset pictures at this beach and most of them came out really cool so I had a hard time deciding which pictures to use. Nothing fancy on this layout - just pictures.

I'm going to do a bit of yard work this morning and then I will go in and help Jeff with some more clean-up at the house in town. The mess is a little overwhelming, but we're making progress.

Enjoy your day!

Tuesday, July 8, 2008

Good Morning! This is a layout I did quite a while back, but it is one of my favorites. A little time consuming with the string stitched on the sides - I actually used a needle and "sewed" - isn't that amazing?

My son Jeff is now a resident of Grand Junction - oh yea! He arrived yesterday with a u-haul full of stuff. I spent the afternoon trying to get some of the house in town cleaned up a bit so he could move his stuff in. Oh my - cleaning up someone elses dirt is not fun!

Class last night, class this morning and another class tonight! Busy day!

Happy scrappin'

Same stamp set - different card.

I'm running out of new projects to post so I guess I need to spend some time getting cards and scrapbook pages done. But first I have to finish up the cards for classes that start tomorrow. It's going to be a very busy day. My stamping mojo just wasn't working all that well yesterday so now I'm going to be scrambling today to get things finished up.

Hope your week is off to a great start.

Happy stampin'

Sunday, July 6, 2008

Another card with the stamp set that Sherry gave me.
I spent an amazingly productive 6 hours at Emily's yesterday - got three 2-page scrapbook layouts almost done. Just have to add some journaling, then I will take pictures so I can post them.
Since this month's card classes start on Tuesday I'm thinking I better spend today getting cards done. Nothing like working under pressure!
Have a wonderful day.

Saturday, July 5, 2008

Good morning! This is one of the lovely cards that Roni did at our Stamp Club on Thursday. Although I don't have this paper or stamp set I loved the layout and look forward to using it for more cards. Thanks Roni!

I had a BBQ last night for friends and had a wonderful time! There was even a brand new baby to ooh and aah over! What fun! I was too lazy to clean up last night, so that's my first job this morning. Then I need to get organized because I am going to Emily's later today to "play".

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

Happy 4th of July!

Hope everyone has a marvelous holiday!

Thursday, July 3, 2008

A card I copied from Deb - sort of. I used the same paper and stamps, but turned the card sideways, then put the bottom on the top - does that make any sense at all? Probably not. But, here it is anyway.

More yard work today - although after 5 hours of weeding yesterday my body is saying it really doesn't want to go back out there today. But, I want to get it finished so I can feel free to do some fun things over the weekend.

Happy stampin'

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

This is another card I copied from Sherry. The image is embossed and then the color is sponged over the top. Rather pretty, and something I haven't done in a long time.

Yard work today - I never got around to it yesterday - although I did get a lot of other things done. But my plan is to spend today and tomorrow getting caught up with the weeding, etc. So, I'm off to get started with that before it gets too hot.

Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

Another card with a stamp set I hadn't used in a very long time.

Desperately need to get out in the yard today. Imagine the nerve of those weeds growing while I was on vacation. So, hopefully some yard work will get done this morning and this afternoon I can get some pictures on the scrapbook pages from last month's class.

Enjoy your day!
