Well, I ended up taking someone's advice yesterday and I called Judy S to see if she wanted to do something more fun than just hanging around the house - she did - and we ended up going downtown, having lunch and just wandering up and down Main Street.  It was good to get out of the house and just do something fun!

Update on Tracy -  Tracy and Tony are on their way home.  She was released from the hospital and they rented a car and left for Ohio yesterday around noon.  The Dr's felt more comfortable with the idea of them driving home than with Tracy being on an airplane.  She has an appointment with a Dr close to home tomorrow.

Ya know, I've decided that this has been one of the worst summers ever.  I've been trying to think positive because I do know that things could be worse.  But yesterday my daughter ended up in the hospital.  She is in Fort Collins for a youth conference, hadn't been feeling well and ended up in the hospital so they could run tests and figure out what was wrong.  They figured out she has warm (auto immune) hemolytic anemia.  She will be in the hospital  until they can get it under control (fairly massive treatments of steroids).  She's hoping they will be able to return home to Ohio this weekend as they originally scheduled, but it will depend on how the treatments go.   So, please keep my daughter Tracy in your prayers.

Project Sunday - I certainly haven't finished any projects lately, but my friend Sherry made this bag for me for my birthday.  It is so cool!  The inside is lined and has lots of pockets.  The bottom of this bag is actually knitted and then washed - it's amazing to see how it comes out!

So looking forward to our Black Sheep stitching group today.  It will be so good to see everyone - and get some stitching done too :)

A happy quilt - there were so many beautiful quilts at the show in Montrose yesterday, but somehow this one just made me happy - all the bright, cheery colors, I guess!  

We had an awesome day - it's always fun to have our friend Sherry here, and this was a very short trip, but we managed to pack a lot of stuff into one day!  A great day - and another birthday celebration too!  Now, today I'm really going to try and get some stamping done :)

The reason I'm showing you a picture of a quilt today is because we'll be off in a bit to see the Black Canyon Quilt Show in Montrose.  Our friend Sherry arrived last night and we are looking at a full day of fun - woo hoo!

I don't quilt, but I do appreciate the time and effort it takes to do these pieces of art.  It's always fun to see what quilters come up with for patterns and the use of colors!

Finally made it to the beach my last day in California - got to feel the sand between my toes.  But now I'm HOME!!!!  Yay!  Arrived late yesterday after a very long day - my flight was delayed so I ended up spending 5 hours at LAX just waiting on the plane.  But, all's well that's ends well and here I am.  Feeling pretty good, a little tired and achy, and still really swollen but the Dr says that will go away!  Hoping to get some stamping and stitching done soon!

The California Saga.....an update and a bit more to the story.........

Starting at the beginning.......... We started on our trip to California for a family wedding on Thursday, May 22. We arrived that night and within a couple hours of our arrival I was experiencing extreme leg pain. Ended up in the emergency room...after a night of tests it was determined that I had blocked arteries...that was the leg part...while running all the tests they discovered that I had a blocked artery in my neck that was in danger of causing a stroke. So, first operation was to take of the neck problem. That went well. 

Next operation for the leg problem was scheduled.....started out well enough I guess...but...there ended up being some extreme blood loss, a collapsed lung and I woke up with huge breathing tube stuck down my throat...yuk!  That was about the worst thing ever!!!   But.... then they decided I had suffered a heart attack either during or after the surgery....so...it was back to surgery to put in a stint in for that issue. 

Whew! I was in the hospital for two weeks. Thank goodness for awesome relatives - my cousin Marleen and her family have been taking care of me for the last two weeks since I got out of the hospital.   I can't begin to thank them enough for all they've done!!!   The Dr says I am doing very well......there's not a lot of pain, just a bit uncomfortable at times but my energy level is about 0 and I'm moving really, really slow (but I'm moving) .....the Dr says it will take 6 -8 weeks for the energy to return so I'm not be impatient  Some days I feel better than others, but I'm alive and doing pretty well and getting impatient to return home. 

I have my plane ticket now and if all goes well will be returning home on Sunday.

Well, there is a first time for everything.  I can't believe I broke my record for posting every single day....hm....but I guess there are more important things.  We made our drive to California and after 13 hours on the road we were at the ocean.  However, 2 hours later I was in the hospital emergency room with severe leg pain.  Still here.....have had one surgery, scheduled for another one today.  Guess the veins in my neck and leg are all clogged up with plaque like stuff.  I will be here in the hospital in California for another week or so and then will be staying with my cousin for another few days before I can travel home.  I will certainly be glad to be somewhere other than this hospital bed for sure.  But all is well and I'm doing fine and the Dr says I will be rid of the leg pain after this - oh yay!

Laundry day - need to get all the clothes washed so I can figure out what I'm taking.  Hoping I can get all organized today so that all I have to do tomorrow is pack my suitcase.

BEFORE:  the back side of the house faces west.  Not pretty.  Putting up a privacy fence was really high on my list of priorities.











AFTER:  still a work in progress, but much better.  I need to get some umbrellas and do some decorating, but it's a pleasant place to be - and because it's all private I can be out here in my pj's!

Rain, rain, and more rain!  It's been raining most of the night and it's still raining.  I guess that's a good thing, but it doesn't really make for a good day for yard stuff!  In all the years I've been planting flowers this is one of the only times I remember not being able to plant on Mother's Day weekend.  Hmm...guess it will be an indoor day today!
